- Being strategic about what you would like to see happen when your book is published is smart, but not enough authors do it while they are writing. In this video, you'll hear some cool stories from author Ryan Berman, author of Return on Courage, on how he considered who might hire him to speak when he wrote his book.
As with any great book, is first priority was delivering an important message to a core audience of readers, but he also thought about another audience ... the one that might pay him to speak and do workshops for their companies. That kind of strategic thinking is smart, and is a great way to use your book to get paid to speak.

If you’re already a speaker, is it common for writing a book to expand the speaking gigs?
Absolutely - a book gives you an additional way to get paid (selling books + speakers fee). As well as your book can be amazing marketing to grow your speaking business.

Good Morning to all! I think the biggest takeaways for me were: 1.) thinking through what the payer is looking for, which aspects of your message are relevant to them, and 2.) being mindful of what value looks like to me. I've had paid speaking engagements where I've gotten from $50-$500...but it didn't consciously occur to me, until this video, that that was the value others placed on my message.
