I got the PVR Mark 1 and yes it has the more open inside without the cover and it's a bit earlier I am going to say about 1973 and it also had an actual working bulb when I got it plus a replacement bulb which is very rare. Mine also has a test lever and sounds very quickly with both the lever and test spray and has more of a DC sounding squealer horn. Mine was an estate find and was well taken care of.
@janeaton3417 Nice to know. I'm so glad the replacement bulb on mine works as I would know where to get one. My unit is in very good condition, and I'd like to find the model Nlind has. I find his very interesting. it's so cool to see all the different models Vulcan made.
Nice! Ordered myself a Mk. I yesterday, don't really know the differences other than age. I wish more people cared about these Vulcan units though.
@f1g2 the mk 1 has older circuitry. The one in the video is the successor.
@@Vintagesmokealarmsmedia That's what I thought. I take it that it'd be like the SRO-4 on the inside?
@f1g2 No, it's based on a completely different unit. jan eaton has a good demonstration of one.
@@Vintagesmokealarmsmedia Maybe if I checked out that video, I would know this (which I will). 🤦
@@f1g2 No the SRO-4 is pyrotector based and the MK.1 and MK.2 is ESL based
