These are very strange but cool units. They have this weird design with the base that hinges with the main unit and then a mounting bracket looking trim plate. These are surprisingly more common despite its flaws. Very cool unit.

Alr update: apparently, I'm not the only person to own this model. Apparently, Kiara, aka Jack Williamson, has one. also, I was able to wire up the unit, and it works great. I have a short video testing it.

Greatful for this content. We are so often left out of representation in media and this made me feel validated. Especially the part where you said that you would attempt to install it, but wouldn't if it were unsafe to do so. That's what it's all about. Keep strong brother.

Cool! Depending on where you got it, if its from lowes or home depot its probably a commercial eletric.

I got the PVR Mark 1 and yes it has the more open inside without the cover and it's a bit earlier I am going to say about 1973 and it also had an actual working bulb when I got it plus a replacement bulb which is very rare. Mine also has a test lever and sounds very quickly with both the lever and test spray and has more of a DC sounding squealer horn. Mine was an estate find and was well taken care of.
