Whether or not the Sony STRDH590 has enough power to drive certain speakers has nothing to do with the size of the speakers. It makes no difference if the speakers are small or large. What matters is the efficiency of the speakers. A speaker with an efficiency rating of 97db will require much less power to play at the same volume as a speaker rated at 87db. A small inefficient speaker may actually require more power than a large efficient speaker. What I find a little odd about the Sony is its 6ohm minimum impedance rating. That means using 4ohm speaker cabs is out. Optimal performance with this amp will be achieved with 8ohm speaker cabs. You could use cabs with a higher impedance if you wanted, but keep in mind that as speaker impedance goes up power output from the amp goes down. But regardless, at 145 watts per channel the Sony STRDH590 should be able to handle pretty much anything you throw at it provided that the speaker efficiency is decent and the impedance is correct.
I had the Integra DRX-3.4 (high-end Onkyo model) because it had pre-amp outputs. Traded it for the Denon 3700, due to the fact that the Integra/Onkyo models don’t have the option to turn off the internal amps when connecting an external amp, such as my Rotel 1585 5-Channel amp. Denon allows you to turn off the internal amps when connecting an external amplifier. Sorry Integra/Onkyo. Kudos to Crutchfield for expertly handing the sale of the Integra and trade for the Denon.
Currently using pioneer VSX - LX 503, with 7.1.2 channel . i am planning to upgrade to denon AVC - X 4700H , will this be a good upgrade or you can give an alternative option within that range
The Cinema 50 is fairly comparable to the Denon AVR-X3800H, but in general just overall nicer. Music should be better and it also looks much better. See Andrew Robinson's review
Marantz Cinema 60 delivers dynamic sound with all the details, yet has a very warm sound & it looks way better then any other model, you can check it out here: amzn.to/3hHIkuo
@@redkulaT sadly almost no class D receivers though, since I wrote this they released their lx805 and even that’s not. So looks like I’ll have to look into their older lx704 model
Trying to decide on the Denon x6700h or x4800h etc.I don't want to spend more than $3400 .I currently have a 5.2.4 setup . Any receiver recommendations my setup is power hungry especially my paradigm 90p monitor towers
Did they announce any for 2023? New models.? What one to get for $1k? Gotta get the others to chip in thou. We have movie nites. They all look dumb to me. Just got a good deal on the lg c1. it has all 8k inputs for 120hz. I see a bunch of receivers only offer 1 8k input. which is full hdmi 2.1. When 8k panels are a norm.
im in search for new dolby atmos powered amp , latest model perfered 2023 cause lots of brands have hdmi2.1 bug or dont support full 48gbps . its big no no . mainly will be used with xbox sx and ps5 , and most streaming services like , netflix , amazon prime video , disney and hbo max. budget of $1500.00 , i want bug free and full support for 4k 120hz pass through.
Thought the same thing. I always have had yamaha. My new LG TV and my yamaha RX-V685 doesn't play well with each other. It is time to upgrade from it anyway. Yamaha was always my brand so now I'm getting torn especially after reading through many reviews similar to this. (Yamaha has been on every one of the top listed except this one I would mention however) I wish I had 2 grand to spend but looking for best 7.2 I can get for maybe $1,100.
Each time I see someone saying Denon is one of the best, it makes me to pew.... This means the 'pro' making the review has no clue what he is talking about.

👍👍❤️I have replaced denon with new onkyo rz-50, onkyo home theatre sound out of the world, Even music sounds awesome in onkyo 👍
Sorry i will keep buying Yamaha they are the best.
I bought one before watching this and I made the right choice
Sir, Does Deep Stereo Soundstage depends completely only on AV Receiver, also speakers? Multi channel effect and virtual front surround ?
Onkyo TX rz50 best one of the best y not included
Can anyone on here give me advice about wether it’s worth taking a Denon AVR-687 for repair? Or just move on and replace.
Nice reviews thanks
The RZ50 is Onkyo's flagship model. Any list without that one is a bullshit list.
We will consider Onkyo TX-RZ50 in our next reviews: amzn.to/3NYe9LR
What about playing satellite, Sirius XM?
can you have a smart touchscreen remote for this?

Waiting for Pioneer & Onkyo to come out with their class D receivers again..
Hopefully soon, I want E-ARC!

yamaha rx v6a or marantz sr5015 which is the best?
Pioneer is #1. The Elite series.
Does onkyo ht r390 support Dolby Atmos?
Nothing from Yamaha?
