Edhouse has had a phenomenal year. What's changed this year for him?? He's not exactly a developing young man. Perhaps he's using a sports psychologist. Happy for him. Well done Richie!
I remember hearing commentary a previous event talking about his big improvement this year and mentioning a slight equipment change. I don't know the specifics though.
What an amazing tournament!!! I truly did not expect two underdogs in one final, but it for sure happened this weekend. Congratulations to Edhouse, he had a phenomenal year and he deserved to win a major. Also huge credit to Wattemina for making it to the final even though he missed so many doubles unfortunately, but Wattimena should feel proud as well that he made it to a final for the first time in his career.
Oh my word what a f***ing tournament we have been blessed with yet again! More twists and turns than a Florida rollercoaster. Anyone still thinking it’s predictable should think again, because if you had these semi finals at the beginning you’re a liar!! Incredible standard these days just to win matches and get the proverbial “nice draw”. Once again I state I feel privileged to be alive through this era of greatness. Big respect to Edhouse averages been showing this was coming!! Respect to Jermaine too gracious in defeat as always
You're so right. Not a single person would've predicted these semi finalists. I wouldn't say I didn't expect these guys playing a semi, especially Edhouse, but not all at once in the same semis 😅 and also because of their draw. Both finalists had to beat some great players to reach their goal and I'm glad we seeing yet again another major winner
Love the good spirit between the players in the finals there. Wouldnt of been half as good if noppert was in there. We should call it the Humphries effect. What a great tourney that was!
What a tournament this has been. This is why we love the darts. So delighted for Ritchie. There were clearly some nerves in those last two matches but when got comfortable, he produced more brilliant darts. Gotta love the double double to win it. Jermaine unfortunately just couldn’t get going on the doubles in the final but he did brilliantly to get this far. Hopefully he’ll take plenty of confidence away from this. We’ll see them both in the Grand Slam.
@@anthonymatute6057 agreed. And hopefully he continues to play well going forward because this was a week where he started playing well again and could battle the best.
Ritchie well deserved he played awesome really finally brought his best all weekend every match. Cheers to Ritchie and good to see an underdog final once in awhile.lol
He'd probably have to go deep in the Grand Slam and/or the World Ch. for that. But I really wish he could too, bc I love his attitude when playing. Let's hope he gets in :)
Yeah he probably still needs atleast one semi final in another major or a few quarter finals. Because we have so many Major Winner this year it is going to be tough for players like him. I believe his toughest rivals for the premiere League are Mike de Decker, Steven Bunting and Dimitri van den Bergh. They can't all get in. Humphries, van Gerwen and Littler are very safe. +2 other players from the Top 4. I'd say Cross and Smith probably get in too even if they don't stay in the Top 4.
He might want to take it because it might be the only time he gets there. For me he just needs to keep doing what he's doing because it's working. That wasn't a fluke he's been consistently throwing some good stuff. Nice to see. Jermaine has as well to be fair I'm not surprised he's had a good run either.
Two blokes who didn't expect to be finalists, playing like two best mates. I didn't want there to be a loser, but we'll done Richie, and tough luck Jermaine. Hope there's more success for them both.
Good to see 2 Guys down the list come good! Well done to both of them. They both have improved their game so much recently. Well done Edhouse in the end.
Is it my imagination, but European darts seems to keep on delivering one great ornament after another! I watch every tournament and they keep delivering sublime darts, new winners and emerging talents! There is so much depth and breadth of talent these days that it seems that the well of entertainment never runs dry.
WOW no one could have seen that coming... Not just the Semi's but also the Final... Well done Ritchie on your win & well done Jermaine on your runners up but also showing great sportmanship... Unlike a few others 1 or 2 others throughout this tournament
Wow. Edhouse played brilliantly throughout the tournament. It's a shame Jermaines doubling deserted him in the final after such brilliant lead up games.
Happy for both these guys. Great week for darts. World championship is going to be interesting this year. There’s 20 guys who I wouldn’t be surprised if they won. Can’t wait!
Edhouse most definitely played the best darts of his career today. I still think his most impressive Victory was against Anderson his doubling was ridiculously impressive. Anderson averaged over 100 and hit 9 180s most of which in a 8-10 leg period Ritchie won 7-2 it was remarkable. Admittedly if Anderson had hit his doubles it would of been a-lot tighter. After that game I had my doubts if he would be able to replicate it but he managed to get close to it and it was enough for the title
Edhouse has been throwing some good stuff. I'd say that was coming other than there's a few throwing good stuff and haven't got anything. However that was deserved. Pleased for him, hope he gets in there and ruffles a few more feathers.
A great tournament and very entertaining final played out by two talented hardworking professionals. Based on their performances I thought Wattimena would win, though three long matches in one day is hard. Once Jermaine’s doubles went missing & Edhouse’ consistency kicked in it was only going one way. Seeing how Jermaine celebrated Richie’s win in defeat was beautiful. I question whether having the semis and final in the same session is fair to the players in the second semifinal. I think a fairer format would be to play the quarters on the Saturday evening, Semis on the Sunday afternoon and a longer final in the evening (e.g. best of 31).
Well done Ritchie, you can afford the other sleeve now! Only joking, deserved winner. Nice to see some different faces in the final other than the usual.
Jermaine had a long match semifinals and played last so he had a right to tire a little but great weekend and good to see but wanted Ritchie to win sorry
The BATTERING of dopes MVG and DVD was wonderful...but watching Wattimenas arse fall out when he met a UK underdog was fantastic !!!!!, Brits own this game anywhere in the World,..... scum crowd...flattened,🤣 All Euro dopes retired and back on the "struggle bus" AGAIN! 🤣 Germans?......jackbooted OUT!, mint
The respect at the end was nice to see
Yes, absolutely!
Chuffed to bits for Richie, always wanted him to do well, played outstanding from the start of the tournament to the end.
What a run these 2 guys have had ! Bravo guys Bravo ! And the respect they both showed to each at the end was class !! Wade take note !!!
Wade is a complete tool & cant bring himself to congratulate anyone that beats him. He wont learn, unfortunately.
Edhouse has had a phenomenal year. What's changed this year for him?? He's not exactly a developing young man. Perhaps he's using a sports psychologist. Happy for him. Well done Richie!
Was it not also to do with loosing his tour card so he really had to pull his socks up n dig in?

He said that he practiced more but there must be another Reason imo
He was wanking less so has more hand movement
So pleased for Richie he was the most consistent player all week throughly deserved😊

That finish to win the Final 👌Congratulations to the new European Champion🎯🏆

Wattimena showing respect at the end, was kinda nice. What wasn’t nice was 3/29 on doubles. As people say though doubles for the dough
As Bobby George said, “Trebles for show, doubles for dough…”
