Thank you so much for making this ! I'm considering going to art school so it's really helpful to kinda know what I should expect or what I should practice on now !
I instantly identified what you were doing with the conductor. Consider having the music being energy that flows upwards out of the band, controlled by the conductor. Maybe even have it be from a perspective behind the conductor? I'm not sure exactly how to demonstrate that the director's wand is working to control the energy flow- but it's an idea. :)
These are fascinating. I'm taking adult ed classes in art, but they don't go into this kind of depth on process, they're mostly technique and in class work and not longer projects.
@@winry4167 try udemy, i have bought numerous courses (including how to draw/sketch for beginners) - that changed me for better. Personally, im ordering books now instead of buying courses, haha. Several courses i purchased had to refund because didnt meet expectations.

It was fun to review the collection with you; and see the thought processes and energies which went into the works. You kept a pace that was very much on point, and enjoyable. Am looking forward to part two. Thank you for being kind enough to share with us

I was hoping you would make more art school related content! This was really interesting epecially for me as I am starting to look at art schools since in a few years I’ll apply too. I hope you make more videos about your experience- I’d love to see your portfolio and tipps about making art your career and applying to art schools!
Jellylord! I love your art so much, and i want to say thank you for keepin me SO inspired. I started doing art a year ago and have now started my channel because of how youe videos make me feel. I am going to document all of my progress from scratch:D Thank you thank you thank you for the inspiration :) x
Can't wait to see the rest of your work 😄 It's always cool to see how other artists come up with their ideas. My favourite sketch was the sunflower-fish 😂 So random, but hilarious !
I loved this! Could you perhaps show how to get those textures in the watercolour techniques you used? Please. The ones with the different colourful textures.
Aaaaa this was so cool! some of the stuff looks really fun, and the stuff that looks less fun is definitely rewarding. I find it interesting how whenever i watch these types of videos, the art profs always come up with different ideas for assignments. thanks for sharing! can you make a video on how to make portfolios for art school, university or college? you are already in art school so maybe you could give us tips and advice for making our portfolio. I am looking to get into a art university and i need to make my portfolio so it would be really helpful.
nice video, i like your art process. i think it would be interesting to see the sketches and textures together with the final work of the assignment. because every assignment has a story of the process and the ideas to tell :) so it would also make sense to show the prior research
Couldn't go to college after I graduated for art because of financial aid, knocked me down a notch for 2years in drawing, recently been getting back into it. 👍 | You're amazing bytheway!
This is awesome. It would be super helpful/interesting to post a year of art school assignments on here (the specific challenge, not just the end product). Maybe not the exact assignments, but similar 'type' assignments, so us self-starters can get the same practice in. The unquestionable value of paying for art school is the lectures, feedback and professional expertise, but assignments still teach us a lot.
I think you did a really great job =) It would be nice if you would say the premise/theme of each project like you did with the bound one and the coffee maker.
I'm afraid to be too specific because I'm not ready to share where I go to school yet and I'm worried people will somehow find out the more specific I am, which probably isn't true, haha. Once I do the video where I show the final illustrations I'll be sure to explain what each one was for!
@@JelArts You totally don't need to if you don't feel comfortable, I mean, I'm pretty sure most of us (your subscribers) understand and that's something you told us before. I don't think just saying the theme is enough to get to know your school because I think most exercises are pretty standard of art schools in general. I did design school not art school and even I had the coffee maker exercise (with us was a retractable pen, water bottle and a free pick of object). We also had to do a one page comic of how to fry an egg with no words (I wonder if you will have that one, it was fun. I have heard of people doing it about instant ramen). I had live drawing too and a few abstract stuff as well as the texture making and stamping. Despite all that I still think you need to show or tell only what you feel comfortable.
I really really enjoyed watching this as an inspiring artist ♥️ or even a person who has a lot on their mind and needs to be distracted for a while 😂♥️
I know I'm like a month late but maybe with the orchestra bound together one you should flip it as we read music left to right. Might help with the flow and so it doesn't look as much like the music is coming from the conductor and instead from the band?
Aw, you could have made the ants work for the bound together idea! If you've ever seen the way they make bridges or rafts using their own bodies en masse... y'know? I think that'd be a great way to naturally implement it!
How hard was it to get into art school? Like the application process did they want normal college stuff like GCSEs or did they want to see your art portfolio. You must get hundreds of comments but I hope you reply.
Amy Rose It depends on the school. Nonetheless, most art schools ask for your school transcript (so GPA), SAT scores, and a portfolio, and some even ask for a sketchbook. Each school’s website lists all of the requirements.

It's still possible to take individual classes from a college or university, and local colleges are very easy to apply to! They may not have the same rigorous course work but you can still learn a lot from community college classes. You can also take classes online and watch helpful videos. There may also be art classes offered by an artist where you live that you can pay for and have one on one lessons. It's definitely not too late!!
I wanna go to a art school, but I hate homework and I procrastinate a lot... I think I would fail and if I go to a art school and I think my boyfriend won't like it because he loves to spend time with me whenever he can because he is at work a lot and we are trying to have a child. Me and him are both 19 and I kinda feel like the baby can wait but at the same time we both wanna be parents.
