These people need to understand that to get any sound, the speaker wire MUST move or else it just won't work.
So please just connect your speaker to a battery, and find a place, where the cable moves. If that doesn't work, try removing the varnish by burning it off, and maybe find a different place for the contacts.
And move the wire in super small steps, till you find the one that makes a sound.
Then, when you power it up, the speaker will buzz.

Works a treat. Only instead of just a hoop I made a little (3 turns) coil. On 8 ohm speaker best voltage is 5v. Thank you mate!!!

Hello, what can I do to get a constantly decreasing and rising sound with variable voltage in the range of 0 - 10.5dcv? normal buzzer is not enough.

I made this but you only get a quick distortion sound as you scrape the wire across the terminal. The only way to get sound is by rapidly connecting & disconnecting the lead. Maybe wire a transistor to do the switching for you ..

I've tried this before, but the only sound I got was an abrupt sound very much like as if someone just tapped the front of the speaker. How can we be sure that there isn't a small buzzer underneath? If the speaker itself is already busted, it's fairly easy to rig a small 3mm buzzer right under that 4Ω 10W speaker...

You have to be careful, it does work, I tried....
You need to carefully adjust the wire, because if you don't either you'll get a tap or nothing.

You have to do some research where the wire moves, or else you will get a small tap or nothing at all.
Also check if the cable has varnish on it, it will not work if it's varnished
But you can remove the varnish by burning it off with a lighter.
I did, and I made 1 buzzer and 1 siren (low frequency buzzer) SUCESSFULLY!
For the siren, I used a 150W woofer, which was busted a little, but working.
I found that the travel distance of the wire is good enough to give me a nice horn like tone.
While testing, I was only powering with 3V 1,8 - 3,5A (changing constantly) and it made a surprisingly loud noise! (80+ dB)!
But if I used higher voltage, the DBs may go over 100 easily.
So as a budget burglar alarm, that's decent - add an extra amplifying cone, and you got a VERY LOUD SIREN!!!
Honestly, a neat project that keeps you from being bored during quarantine.
