Thanks for sharing. Excellent eye candy. I have not yet been up to Owl Creek Pass. I will be adding it to our route next time we head up that way. Cheers.
So very beautiful...Stunning backdrop of the mountains swathed with the clouds ,a perfect scenery complemented beautifully by colourful carpeting of hillsides the slopes accentuating the scenery magnificently.Thank you Lovely viewing...
I live in Phoenix AZ but this part of Colorado is probably my favorite place on earth. I try to go every summer. Used to camp just outside of Silverton, past the old 100 mine. Ouray is beautiful. Like taking the kids to the hot springs there. Omg I'm getting excited just thinking about the san juan area!
Great video. My wife and I just got done doing this area. Although we were 10-14 days too early, it was still beautiful. We decided to give it a go again next year. We've been in the area several times in the past. but never in the Fall. Now that we are retired, we can do that and try again. Love Ouray, Ridgway, Silverton, Last Dollar Road, and Owl Creek Pass. Thanks for the video!
Just drove it this Spring and if you like lush greens and newly sprouting foliage, it's a great time to travel it as well. Oh and the snow peaks and runoff from melting (creating rushing streams and waterfalls) add something that you don't get in the Fall. Both times I would think can be magical.
Thanks for sharing this - absolutely beautiful. No place like Colorado for sure! I take my drone every year to Colorado in the fall and then cut videos to relaxing music like this. I thought the areas around Carbondale, McClure Pass, even over to Snowmass and Aspen were spectacular - until I found the San Juans by Ouray, Silverton, and Durango. I have yet to get to Telluride, but its on my bucket list.
@@110westoverland If you hit it in the fall - check out Castle Creek Road and just keep driving past the old ghost town. That drive in the fall has some worthy scenes.
So pretty! Would you recommend the Telluride side for Durango to Ouray or would you go million dollar highway instead? Which side has the prettier views and leaves? We will be doing this drive next week. The leaves should still be pretty good. Thanks!!
Hands down go up the 550, Million Dollar Hwy. It is much more spectacular. In the times I have been there, the first week of Oct was the prime time to go. You might get lucky though!
I went on a few County Roads on this trip, and a couple are "rougher" to navigate. Owl Creek Pass is not technical and can be driven by almost any car. I did pull off to camp at Rowdy Lake and to get to it was for a high clearence vehicle. The other road I would recommend a higher clearamce vehicle is Last Dollar Road. Our Rav4 does just fine on all of these roads, and has all terrain tires. A similar setup on a suv would be fine when weather is on your side. I would not attempt some of these road in snowy or muddy conditions.
Beautiful pictures, we are planning a trip to hit these places this October, did you have to pay to car camp at Rowdy lake and is the best time to take CR 7 and Last Dollar Road in the afternoon so the sun is behind you when photographing these areas? Thank you in advance
Rowdy Lake is dispersed camping, so Free. It has a restroom, which nice when car camping as I was. Sunset at Rowdy lake is gorgeous. I think Sunrise is wonderful time to go down CR 7, it is sidelit, but if weather is nice, sunset would be pretty as well. Last Dollar would be a better road for sunset. Although you cant go wrong! Try to make your trip the first weekend in Oct, although every year is different with the seasonal changes, I have good luck for bright Aspen color that time of year. A website I stalk in Fall is www.fs.usda.gov/detail/sanjuan/home/?cid=stelprd3854716 It gets updated closer to the Fall colors. Good luck on your trip!
@@110westoverland perfect, we will be in Durango on the 3rd then heading north on 550.... Thank you very much for the valuable information....have a great day! 👍
Awesome video! stunning photos and video captured! I'm heading that way in Oct. Hoping to arrive the area during the same time you did. Every year the fall foliage is different, I'm hoping to see something similar you did. Thanks for sharing! If you don't mind me asking, which settings did you use for your gopro and canon?
Thank you! I shoot 4k30 or 4k60 for the GoPro, and the Canon, I use A+ cause it is so good in auto mode, and I may be a bit lazy, lol. Warning though, with the GoPro, 4k60 tends to overheat and shut off. Also uses a good chunk of the SD card memory. Unless your really pixel peeping, 4k30 is sufficient. Thanks for commenting!

I'm going to attempt a Fall Colors photography trip this Fall, and this video is GOLD! Thank you so much for putting this out there. If you don't mind me asking, there is one vantage point that I see tons of pictures of, but have no idea what road it is. SO GORGEOUS! ❤ I’m 63 and on my treadmill so I appreciate you taking me with you!

My favorite place in the entire world. Nowhere like the San Juans!

Oh you must go up Owl Creel Pass, very easy road, and spectacular scenery!

One of my favorite places in the whole US, especially the end of September and beginning of October. The fall colors are spectacular in that region!🍁🍂
Couldn't agree more!

I look foward to it each year. It is a place to get away from the busy city life of Albuquerque. Or in your case, Phoenix!

The photography is spectacular! The music was perfect. It was so pleasant to listen to.

The San Juan mountain range is gorgeous! I lived in Durango for 29 years.
You were very lucky to be able to see that beauty regularly!

Thoroughly enjoyed your photography and travels in this video. Some of those views are just breathtaking.
Thank you, Glad you enjoyed it!
I miss the beautiful Colorado and Sanjuan mountain area.
Me too, it is why I try to go back every few years.
Beautiful..
Thank you! 😊
Not sure why your channel doesn't have way more subscribers. I watch these on the Fall San Juans over & over...
Why, Thank you! I just think it is the way TH-cam introduces the videos. Not many people see it... :(
Viewing June 2022. Wow! Just wow!
So Breathtaking
Love your video! Looking forward to our trip to Telluride next week!
Hope you enjoy it! Its a beautiful area! If you are able, drive on Last Dollar Road slightly outside of Telluride.
Scenic wonderland! 23:44 is my favorite!
Ah Yes, that would be Woods Lake, a gorgeous spot to hike/Picnic West of Telluride! One of my favorite as well! Thanks for watching!
Spectacular scenery and good music as well.
Thanks for visiting

That would be towards the end of C.R. 7 off of Hwy 62, Southwest of Ridgeway, CO.

Yes, I find the last week of Oct to be a great week to go with the Aspens. It is an amazing area.

@110westoverland3 so with the gopro you shot in natural or vibrant? I'm lazy with color grading too .
Crazy people can get famous for driving through a state that they are not from
What is crazy is you thinking someone with less than 200 subs is famous.
Hah! Touche! One day tho... ;)
GO HOME ANNOYING TOURISTS!!!!
