    I'm thinking the cold winter weather must have a good effect on tulips because I have never dug up and replaced my tulips and they flower just as strongly the next year. I live in Northern Ontario, Canada and our winters are generally -20 to -30 from Dec to March. In fact I had never heard of people digging up tulips until I started watching this show lol.

    Despite what many sources say, I find corn does well being transplanted, as long as you don't disrupt the roots too much.

    The British style of gardening is beautiful but so wasteful. Wish they would apply/teach more permaculture principles. i.e. why throw away your bulbs? why not plant them somewhere less prominent and let them do their thing? Or plant perennials and not wasteful labor-intensive annuals in the first place.
