  • The Portuguese capital Lisbon is Continental Europe’s most western capital and the only one along the Atlantic coast. This global city with important structures in finance, commerce, media, entertainment, arts, tourism, and international trade is one of the major economic centers of the continent.
Lisbon is also one of the oldest cities in the world, going back to the 5th century. It is rich of culture and architecture and was considered to be one of the most livable cities around the world.

This documentary allows a unique insight behind the scenes of Lisbon - ten portraits of extraordinary and impressive citizens show how people in Portugal’s capital think and how they imprint their city day after day. Besides that, it tells the story of Lisbon's who battle the economic crisis with ingenuity, creativity, and positive thinking. Portraying special people from different areas of life, from a former pop star to a pensioner-graffiti-gang and from Lisbon’s wine pope to a modern Fado-band. This documentary reflects the people and their mentality.

Lisbon was not founded in the 5th century, but in 12th century before Christ by the Phoenicians. And the monastery of "pasteis de belem" was not Monserate, but Jeronimos.

hi, there are several misinformation on this video... @15:17 Monastery Monserat when it’s actually Jeronimos Monastery… @15:24 vanilla pudding when it’s actually egg custard…

The lady was singing passionately, though I didn't understood the single word but I could feel the passion she was singing with.

The last part of the video is the most interesting. The charismatic lady singer and her own style of Fado is enticing me to visit in memory of my mother who has taught me to sing. As a tiny girl I would try to mimic her sweet a melodious voice. This lovely’s voice and her song has brought me back many years. My dear Mama loved singing Adieu Lisbonne in French and the cadence was very Portuguese.

15:20 Both pastel de nata (the ones show in the video) and pastel de Belem, do not have vanilla pudding like stated.
First, they don't have vanilla, second, its not pudding.
A more correct description would be egg custard/cream.

A bunch of cute curiosities, but none of them represent what the Portuguese are like, or how we live. You have to get away from the tourist areas and go to the residential areas or the suburbs.

Lisboa e una cidade muito bonita. The portuguese character which I always admore is one that exemplifies hard work humidity and creativity. Personally although I have family in Spain I prefer Portugal for so many reasons. Thank you for this wonderful video that shows the humanity of the portuguese people and the beauty of Lisboa and all Portugal
