Dame is exactly right. Politicians are not on the ground floor. Similar to a marketing team (since it was used) they would know about the overall ads, marketing, and the statistical data about how that marketing is working. The STREET Team would kno about the true feelings of the ppl and the word of mouth feedback. They would then report that info back to the marketing team for them to adjust their strategies accordingly.
and what do you think a town hall meeting is for. awareness. they already know what's going on trust me i shouldn't have to constantly ask "beg " you to fo for my community. the asians didn't do it for they hate build. or illegal immigrants or LGBTQ. we the only ones not getting. heard. how couldn't you see white boy logic. When politicians campaign for your vote, they do so by means of grassroots efforts (ostensibly or true). They market themselves as being on the ground floor and "for the people". Nothing wrong with holding them accountable based on their own words. In fact, it's necessary and supposed to be a key check within our republic system. We vote to put forth and maintain our interests and use their political connections (of which the average Joe will never have) to push our ideas and interests to the forefront. So why is it weak or wrong to hold them accountable? It's not about "you waiting for another man", it's about making sure they hold true to what they say because they're more powerful than the average person.

It is the ppl who should b holding accountable i agree but that is impossible to be done if they are not also actively in they communities to give true feedback on whats needed. To me this host was more so describing a witch hunt to find inaccuracies n a person or their campaign as opposed to true book keeping which is done throughout the process not just once its done or ur bill/addendum dont come thru. I have seen a lot of complaints about the outcome from those who never are involved in the process. Im against that notion of thinking. If we had more community, politicians wouldnt even b considered anything more than what they truly r which is a spokesperson conduit for registered voters. Period.
@@keyfrom92that's the problem. Politicians, we can agree, sell dreams to gain votes, yet by Dame's logic, it's apparently a problem to take them to task to hold them accountable. It's characterized as "waiting for another man", yet those same men are making promises to regular folks who think they will bring change. I agree that it is a community effort, but many people don't feel the need to participate in that process because bad politicians have been lying for centuries, so they don't see the point and feel like their vote is meaningless. The balance of power is clearly skewed towards the politicians, yet we expect a community of laymen with "know-how" to do what politicians are voted into office to do. Again, why do we need them if that's going to be their attitude? Dame is way off the mark IMO.

@@ned272 Unfortunately you're arguing about something completely different. When you vote for someone, they typically have a list of policies that they've prepared to have implemented/pushed. That's where the right guy was right when he said "I already know what you're going to do if you're a dem and a repub" and he was right. What you're talking about is something new coming up and you need it dealt with, that's when lobbying becomes a factor. All those policies implemented best believe that's the highest level of lobbying and law changes, that's your 11+ figure corporations and the highest level of billionaires.
What you did was raise an issue that probably shouldn't have been an issue to begin with by the sound of it and got the right person to help you, I wouldn't call that lobbying though, lobbying is more about getting someone to push an agenda through for you and they benefit in return. So if I wanted to build a new development but need funding for it having the right influence on the right people to make that process smoother and achievable is lobbying because in return they get something whether funding for their next campaign or it helps their resume if you succeed or even a favour that they can call upon later on. In your case it seems like you're the only one that benefitted which isn't really lobbying.
