Thank you for this video. I wanted to re-buy my childhood SNES and before moving to the US it was a PAL SNES. I have yet to get it to work. I’m going to try this power adapter solution.

Hello 👋🏽 I have a question. I just bought the insignia multi voltage ac adapter to play on my usa crt. Which number do I set it to on the voltage selector?

@@rigbyslifejust buy a scart to hdmi upscaler, the pal snes will not recognise you tv, as pal runs at 50Hz, unlike the US 60Hz system

Maybe one for the US version of the nes works as the power required is the same as the nes here in the UK Nes-002-GBR output voltage 9v at 1.3a!

If the power requirement is the same I don’t see why not. But I know the power delivery was the issue for me. Going from a 220 to 110 using the universal adapter as demonstrated.

I try it with the insignia power supply and finally it works!! But him looks in black and white 😆 i think not all hdtv comes with a multisystem unfortunately
OSSC is so expensive for me

Happy to hear the power supply worked. As for the OSSC, you could try the Retrotink instead. I haven’t tested it in this scenario, but it’s another useful device for adapting older display protocols to modern displays. It’s less expensive too, so it might be a suitable alternative.

Would this work with JUST the Insignia Power adapter? I don’t have access to a SCART cable or OSSC device. Thanks in advance

I think the power adapter was the issue in the first place, not the video connections. Even though I haven't tested this outside the scope of my setup, I have a hunch it would solve your problem. Let me know how it turns out!

I have this same issue but with a PAL NES. I cannot find the exact power adapter online to buy. Do you have a model number or something for what you have? Thanks.

Ah, I found it on eBay for $10. Can't wait. I also thought I bought an expensive paper weight. I wondered if it was a power issue.

I thought the same thing! Glad you were able to find the part you needed.

Tip games wise you're going to want to go with games from the United Kingdom or Australia as they are in English.

After I made this video, I imported a copy of “Donkey Kong Country” from Germany and it worked fine (as it was PAL). While the box was in German, I was able to select English in languages so it’s still playable.
