Great points guys. Live in KS, grew up in MO. This is so ridiculous. Nate said it: "the vote was no." I would love to keep Arrowhead but this metro comprises 14 counties across the line. If we moved to KS (Chiefs) and recreated a modern Arrowhead with the same college-type stadium it currently has, that would be great! I'm good either way. Great points made in this discussion. Appreciate y'all.
Renovated or new...it needs to have 3 things. A retractable roof (yes folks, for other occasions other than football), a two story team museum attached to the outside of the stadium (opening up the inside area and gives both new areas room for expansion), and renovated or brand new practice facilities for the players and coaches. The last one won't be for the fans, unless they invest in it as their new training camp site. But it also saves us the jokes now made about us.

I live in Kansas. The far northwest corner, damn near in Colorado/Nebraska, to be exact. I'm about 6 hours from Arrowhead. And I want the Chiefs to stay in Arrowhead.

Arrowhead is great but it needs a serious renovation and the show me state said don't let the door hit you on the way out, while Kansas said hey here's 2 Billion.
Just name the new stadium Arrowhead

I grew up in Wichita and have lived on both sides of the stateline in KC. As much as I would love for Arrowhead to always be where the Chiefs play, I would also love a brand new domed stadium. The proposals that were put forth, while flawed, were allowed to be voted on. and I think that was totally fair. But now its kinda out of Jackson County's hands. Putting the argument of giving billionaires government handouts aside, the STAR bond approach seems like the most equitable approach to everyone. I think KS shot their shot and nailed it. Seems like it's going to be a done deal and now I'm really curious to see how this all plays out. As for the KS versus MO side discussion, its so juvenile and people just need to get over it. We're one metro and at the end of the day, we all want the 4 time, and back to back, Super Bowl Champion Kansas City Chiefs to stay the Kansas CIty Chiefs, so let's all just be happy that looks like that's happening.

Question...if they don't move to KS, and they don't renovate current Arrowhead...could they just build a new stadium by Worlds of Fun? Not much in the area besides that, so they could build other businesses and commercial area stuff like modern stadiums do. Plus how cool would it be after a win to walk over to roller-coasters.
How does walk ability help the Royals get me fans to the game? Nobody lives downtown

The KCMO people have forever looked down at their Kansas brethren talking about how Kansas sucks and how its flat and there's nothing over there. The main reason is because they had both sports teams. If the Chiefs leave they won't have that anymore.

I worry about losing the mystique of Arrowhead.. not only is ot aesthetically pleasing to look at on TV, but watch a game from inside... But its built in such a way that the fans are right on top of the players.. and also in such a way thay keeps all that noise inside the building.. i worry that the new place wont have that same effect on the game. Theres an old adage that-- you go to Arrowhead NOT to watch a game, but to participate.. and i think my biggest worry is not having that anymore ad a fan... There's also the idea that wr ARE a Midwest, outdoor team/stadium. We go into a dome and we lose that homefield advantage against some of these other AFC teams in the playoffs.. think about that Miami playoff game-- i know thats a one-off-- but maybe that game goes differently if its indoors, where the warm weather team is more comfortable, and that speed is better utilized indoors and not neutralized like it is outdoors.. i know these things are kinda 🤷 out there, i guess.. but its some of the stuff concerned about... Plus the obvious nostalgia and all the memories i have from going to Arrowhead my entire upbringing.. its really gonna hurt my soul if they leave Arrowhead... Plus, isnt that LEGIT the dopest, coolest friggin stadium name in all the league!?!?!?! Its gonna turn into "Starbond Stadium in Kansas City, Kansas" which sounds immeasurably more lame. Arrowhead is just perfect.

@mikisummey690 Houston Astros did use a retractable roof in their baseball stadium what happened in KC about the weather the raining and also snowing or earthquake safety that is precaucious
So people are arguing about moving the chiefs from kansas city to kansas city? I totally understand people in Missouri not wanting to pay for it and the revenue for the surrounding businesses being lost. As a fan i dont see how it matters that much, fans are barking at the owner for their crappy facilities but dont want them to move to build new ones and update their stadium, i find that counterintuitive. Its extremely difficult to update and remodel any old structure. I think once the fans who are against them moving are sitting in more comfortable seats and have more amentities will change their tune. Change is hard to accept sometimes but moving to kansas seems like the clear cut solution to me. I will say that once they made a new stadium for the college world series in omaha that it did change the tailgating and forced people to eat and drink at really expensive surrounding restaurants instead, hopefully they find a way to keep that with the new arrowhead if thats what happens.
Kansas has much more to offer than their current location. Then there’s the sports betting. It’s a no brainer why they’re moving. It’s Missouri’s loss.

I'm back and you guys are back beating up on Nick Bolton, I hope he thinks its funny being the butt of your jokes about him. I hope at this point that the Chiefs overpay him more than the market just to stick it in your collective ears! (For people new to Weird, its been a running and mean spirited attack on Nick Bolton not deserving to be paid by the Chiefs, Brisco and Nate are the cheer leaders of this weird and consistent attack) I hope Nick Bolton starts a Podcast that attacks you guys for being weird rather than good at your jobs. Nick has too much class to do this.
