I have 3 decades of experience as a vocal coach and singer. David has a brilliant voice. A tenor with a beautifully dark tone. Rare. And his writing skills are underrated (not applicable here). This is tasteful, respecting the original yet pumped w testosterone and subtle muscle. Restrained power. WIN!

Great job, David! For those who commented that his voice sounds different, you really should go back and listen to his pre-idol, idol & post-idol music. This man's voice is an instrument that can sound anyway he wants it to for each song. Remember Music of the Night? Barbasol? Feed Your Ego? When I heard that line, first thing I "saw" in my mind was his same clenched-teeth singing for "is someone loving you" when he performed "Hello" on Idol. He can convey so much emotion with voice alone, making it almost "visual". You can imagine his facial expressions singing different phrases. Love how he conveyed darkness w/just his voice.
