- Welcome everyone. Today we are walking down Ontario Street starting at the Henley Square. We will talk about and show what places were once there such as the Henley Hotel and continue our walk on Ontario Street showing places along the way. We will end the walk at the old site of the Welland canal across the street from Jaycee Gardens.

Enjoyed coming along with you reminiscing, Christine. It's hard to imagine you reading "Mad" magazines, even though I've heard you talk about it before. Friendly window installers and I think it be even colder up high with the wind. The Mayholme house is beautiful. Interesting remnants of the old canal. Beautiful neighborhood to grow up in Christine. Hi Christine, great nostalgic walk and looking back kind of grounds you and provides a road map to where you are now. I remember l would pass 5 sweet shops on the way to school, "Pass" might be the wrong as the sweet counter had an hypnotic effect on a 9yr old. All been turned into private houses now. Best Wishes.

Hi Christine! I enjoyed the then & now walk - it's great to reminisce how things change over time, and how some things don't change! I agree it was probably a bit cold for those workers installing the windows. The Mayholme is so old compared to buildings here in Alberta! It must be beautiful inside, too.

I just caught your stream about your hometown. Even though I pass by there all the time when going by Niagara Falls it is always great to know the present day and history of St Catherine's. Morning Chris so sorry I missed this from 3 days ago, I don't know why this keeps happening. Its only when I came to check now that I found it 😯I loved this then and now ( cold day !) walk of where you grew up and seeing where you bought sweets and magazines and cycled to the JC Gardens and went to tea dances and caught the bus on Saturdays to the Pen Centre ! So interesting to see the old pictures of what it was like then. It must be sad seeing your old sweet shop no longer there. That church looked so nice that you passed by and I loved Maryholme, such a lovely house in pretty grounds. And seeing that lock 4 section of the old canal that your brother took you to must have felt strange especially when you didn't know it was there. I loved this historic walk especially seeing the old pictires :) ~ Anna 👍💞
