      Angelica Login - if you measured the quantity in advance, maybe it would be fine since the orbeez would still soak up the hardener as well - of course one could easily tinker with this until it was perfected. You know - apply all sorts of science & rates of absorption & blah blah until... you just decide to have fun with it haphazardly. 🤷‍♂️

    Soak them until they're full size. Put them in a mold and slightly weigh them down, so the point of contact between each sphere is greater (creating a bigger hole in the final cast), fill it with resin and let it set. After the resin has completely set, remove it from the mold and let it sit for a while, or stick it in a dehumidifier, so the orbeez shrink back to their original size. Once they've completely shrunk, shake them all out of the cast, and you'll be left with a honeycomb structure of clear resin. Fill the void in with a dyed resin and turn that.

    • @huntercall9740
      @huntercall9740 5 ปีที่แล้ว +116

      It wouldn’t be clear because of the water that leaked into the resin. Resin is supposed to be dry as it’s setting, so it could potentially create cracks in the resin, but even so, this would look really cool!!

      @@britannia6080 I don't claim to be clever, but having a channel doesn't make you clever. Anyone who has ever done anything with resin knows putting water in it doesn't go well. I have trypophobia. You don’t need a warning. The most stupid thing someone with this phobia can do is try to avoid it. Life isn’t like that. It doesn’t come with a warning sign. It was a shock because I didn’t think it would happen. But it did. You all with it need to understand IT CANNOT HURT YOU! Stop letting our trigger for a phobia rule our lives. Regardless of that I really enjoyed the video! When it was flipped over it looked super pretty.
    To everyone like me with sever trypophobia. Stop asking everyone for a trigger warning. Our fear can’t hurt us. A trigger warning hurts their lifestyle and income. This is how they make money. Grow some back bone and fight our phobia, don’t hide!

    I suggest that you try this again, but with the following method:
    - leave the orbeez in water to grow like you did here
    - dry them with paper or a towel before putting them into the form so that you reduce the moisture clouding the resin
    - somehow squeeze the orbeez so that they are pressed against each other while setting
    - after setting, leave in the sun so that the orbeez dry out and shrink again
    they should then fall out of the resin because of all the holes since they were squeezed against eachother. This would leave a sort of sponge-looking cast.

I use resin to make keychains and fridge magnets, and one of my favourite things to use is plain white tissue paper because the tissue turns completely invisible, so anything I draw on it looks like it's floating inside.
    you could also try crumpling up coloured tissue or loosely rolling up patterned tissue as well. it might be neat to roll up some christmas patterned tissue so you get all the images inside for a christmas project.

      That was my thought too! It's far less viscous and is formulated to be absorbed.

      Fated Snowfox it's still pretty viscous and if you would want them to cure, it could be possible! I don't think that baking them would do it but possibly curing them with heated water could work.

      The Orbees should shrink and drop out. If they don't fall out they may stay in the cavity but just be a hard little ball.

      @@TheThomasites Yes, I hope they stay in the cavities they created and rattle around when shaken.

    It'll be really interesting to see what that looks like after a couple weeks... The exposed orbs will dry, opening more and more of the honeycomb effect... Looking forward to the next video for this experiment! Great job Nick!
