I stayed in South Korea for several months as an exchange student. I also didn't have a credit card due to some issues at my bank in the Netherlands. If you are in need of cash you can exchange cash with your debit card at some ATM's. I remember that there were two kind of ATM's, local and global. You'll need the global one which you can often find in convenience stores such as CM store or directly at the bank. The fee was around 70/80 cent per transaction. I hope this will help and enjoy your trip!
So, I can't just use my bank card to pay in stores in Korea like I would within different countries in Europe?
@@mellory2337 In my experience, using my regular debit card directly in the store didn't work except for once. I used a maestro debit card btw. My friend did have a credit card and although it worked most of the time, there were moments that it didn't work in some stores. For South Korea, I would definitely recommend to always have some cash aside just in case.

yeah no both my credit card and debit card aren’t working anywhere, convenience stores, global ATM’s, nothing. even my bank doesn’t understand a thing but i’m hoping someone else finds this helpful!

korea is really a place for café hopping!! there were few other youtubers that i've watched that also recommended going to different cafés in korea, because there's A LOT of them!! hope you'll enjoy your stay there!!' 🥰❤️

It's all in the experience now though you'll know next time to walk with emergency bags in case you need to throw up if you feel airsick again or medications and Anywhere else you go that u know the currency changes, get cash to exchange just in case this happens again. I got into an uber once and it was going barely 10 blocks away and i felt airsick and motion sick and my dad was like hoping i wouldn't throw up in the car idk how that happened because i was fine before i got in. Also this is very helpful to us folks who wanna go to korea so bad lol hope you're enjoying the rest of your stay though. 💜

You should definitely visit 연희동 & 한남동! They have the best cafes and restaurants!! Also Leeum Museum is definitely worth a visit..성수동 also has great brunch cafes and 서울숲 is great during spring time! I wish you had a subscriber meet and greet or something that would be amazing!!
Ahhh travel sickness! I’m convinced there is nothing worse 😖 but yay for Seoul content! I went in August 2019 and stayed by Myeongdong. Got loads of flashback feelings watching this! We went to Hanok village as well and I recognised the first shot but we couldn’t find anything that looked like what you walked by after. We ended up by a starbucks and then lots of traditional residential housing with no shops or anything 😅

I am not looking forward to the long distance flights either! I will go from AMS to DOH, then 3 hours layover in Qatar, and from DOH to ICN. I will try to eat as little as possible on the flights and take Primatour (pills against travel sickness) looking forward to more of your content to get inspired for my own trip in a few weeks!! ♥
