How come my blinkers come on when I turn my headlights on after I did the LED conversion ?!
There’s not a whole lot of videos on how led flashers work
Any information on how to get the running lights to not turn off on the headlights when connecting the side marker led.
I added LED signals to my 64 Chevy C10. Then installed those electric blinkers. Blinkers would not work. Then re installed the original thermo flasher and work perfectly. What is up with that ? Anybody? Thanks. ✌🏼
how do you add the clicking noise now?
Hmm… The electronic flasher I used in this video makes the clicking sound. If you used a different one, maybe other brands don’t make a sound.
So I installed led turn signals front and back and used that same grounded flasher. The back LED’s worked but the fronts wouldn’t and neither would the emergency blinkers. I had to install the halogens back in the front for everything to work. How come?
Can i used it in an electronic circuit ? hopefully it doesn't draw amperage more than 500 mAmp
New relay installed will work for about 5 minutes and then stay solid. If I put a electronic flasher will this fix my issue?
Great video. I have a question about how to add a headlight reminder buzzer to my CJ. I know the obvious thing would be to just look to see if they're on, but we've all been there with a dead battery after leaving them on.
Yes. I’ve been there too! There is a very simple fix for it. I did it several years ago, so I don’t remember the details. I will look into it and get back to you. And I will also plan on making a dedicated video for it.
I used a Peizo Buzzer. I got it from Radio Shack for about $3 back in the day. Radio shack part number 273-0059. You may need to order one online these days.
In the fuse box, connect the red wire to the Lamp fuse (use a probe to verify that it is only hot when the headlights are on), and the black wire to Ignition fuse (use a probe to verify that it is hot when the key is on, and is a ground when the key is off).
Great video 👍👍👍 I’m upgrading my YJ to LEDs. Just curious, is the hazard flasher also hanging somewhere instead of attached to the fusebox? I’m at work and can’t physically check right now.
In my CJ, both flashers are in the fuse box. If yours are not in the fuse box, I’m not sure where the hazards flasher is located.
Does it click and make noise like a traditional relay?
This specific one clicks for me. I’m not sure if they all do.

There is an over flow of current when I upgraded to LED blinkers on my motorcycle. Although this video is for CJ7, but you explained wiring and electrical in detail. This will surely help in resolving the issue I'm facing. Thank a lot 👍

Hello! This is good info. Thank you. I installed all side and front marker LEDs recommended as well as flasher. All works as it should w the exception of side marker is not as bright as it should be. Previous owner had replaced some of the wiring but looks to be correct per Chilton or Haynes manual diagram. Any insight? Thank you in advance!
Unfortunately, it's not something I can look into at this time. It is covered up and tucked in the corner for winter storage. Zero degrees out today with a -30 wind chill!
Your vid’s are great. I have 79 cj7 And bought led parts exactly as you described. Lights work perfectly but the driver parking light is dimmer than pass light. Then when I turn on blinkers the reverse lights come on too and the driver park light goes off completely. When I have lights on and the turn blinkers the reverse come on again and park light amd blinker lights stop blinking completely. Got any suggestions?
I would start with the taillights since there are some strange things going on there that should not be possible if everything was working correctly before the swap.
If you had to cut and splice them into the harness like it did, double check that everything is wired correctly. Mine was not intuitive. I recall that the black was not the ground, and the wire colors on the taillight didn’t match the wire colors in the harness.
Great video! Can you use the electronic flasher with regular bulbs and gradually swap over to LED. I.e. can you have a mixture of LED and regular bulbs.
Yes you can! And electronic flasher will work with any type of light bulb.
The regular thermal flasher may still continue to work for a while if you have a mixture of bulbs, but will eventually stop working when you have too many LED bulbs.
That was an awesome video. Thank you so very much. Don't know if you can help me or not but I have a 71 K5 Blazer I have led for the backups and incandescent all the way around except for that front signal lights that are after market universal. Now get this, when I hook the universal turn signals up to the wires that go below the bumper, everything works accordingly as long as I don't turn on the parking lights. When I do, the LED lights won't flash and just shut off. When I hook the same lights up to the marker lights on the side of the vehicle, the parking lights have to be on for everything to work accordingly. So it's just the opposite of what I just described. Do you think this is a LED flasher issue which I don't have yet? Or is it a combination of having an LED and the incandescent lights with the traditional flasher. I've been searching for many hours tonight and I haven't had anybody that's running to this problem. If you can help in any way, I'd be forever grateful
I am not familiar with the light system on that vehicle specifically, but I have a couple suggestions.
1. It is not currently working correctly, so something needs to change. In my opinion, the LED flasher is something that is worth a try.
2. Do some research and determine if maybe your stock turn signal bulbs are polarity sensitive. That is, does current need to flow both ways for the system to work properly? LED bulbs typically only allow current to flow in one direction. This could be the problem. There are some LED bulbs that are not polarity sensitive and allow current to flow both ways, but you will need to specifically search for them.

So where did u find your led hazard lights flasher? And would u happened to have a product number? Or is it the same as the led turn signal flasher?
The hazard lights will use the same led flasher.
Lol, I don't know how many times I've sat in my seat upside down like that to work under the dash of my 71 K5. Totally relate!!!

Good question! The hazards also need an electronic flasher.
