Same cheap trick the villain played on Xio Yan so seems fair. The difference is Xio Yan cured his and the villain didn't. 😜

These Wuxia content getting more and more next level! 🔥
I disagree. These days they constantly overuse slow motion effects and actual quality fight scenes (which are so much harder to pull off) are a bare minimum. Slow motion is easy to cut and edit and looks cool, but so cheap in terms of artistry. take a look back at Hero or crouching tiger, those fight scenes were a masterful dance.
@@howiecd3861 I am not talking about the slow motion actually, I am talking about the special effects. In old wuxia series, even back in the days of popular Hong Kong wuxia series of the 80s, you have to imagine what the impact was of the wuxia kungfu that was used, occasional blow of the wind depicts how strong the kungfu was. In modern wuxia series for example, you get visual special effects that make the wuxia kungfu come alive in full effect and how it was intended to be by countless of wuxia novelist which people only could have seen in comics but now in live action.
@@cyc20976 Sure, the effects are better definitely thanks to new technology. But it use to be the case that this tech was meant to augment the movie/show, instead of compensating. It is now a crutch to churn out quantity over quality.
@@howiecd3861 I do not agree, mainland chinese wuxia have produced real gems, part of it due to high production sets, part of it is special effects, but certainly alot of it is due to good script writing, as alot of the wuxia content are actually modern cotemporary novels that are filmed to live action.
@@cyc20976 I'm familiar with the novels, and I've been watching these shows/movies from the 80s, 90s, 2000s+. The transition from hk based to now mainland. The cultural filters, censorship, language, makes it very hard for the new content to be good. I love this genre and have been hooked since the 80s. This is just my personal experience and opinion. Perhaps now that I'm older, see things differently.

The tv show is so different from the novel. If you like the tv show, you'll like the novel much better. They are similar world's, but very different. Not sure why they had to change so much of it in the tv show.
