love the tournament.... you could always do mini ones dedicated to certain styles.... like an all IPA (cold, west, english, hazy, black) one, an all Lager one, Saison, Belgian.... there's all kinds of variations of styles... that'd be cool
Loved voting through this! Next time, ales on one side, lagers on the other. Last one standing on both sides gets brewed and you do a tasting video to pick your winner
Rauchbier would be worth making. I never brewed it, but I know that if you make it a lager, W-34/70 warm fermented, you can put in a lot of smoked malt. Right now I am drinking a smoked Caol Ila Scotch whiskey, so some people do like smoked malt. It works well with smoked meats.
this was a great experiment and tournament Trent. Love that you brewed a NEIPA! For next year, maybe do a bracket for hops, a bracket for yeast, and a bracket for grains. You then have to brew a SMaSH with the winning hop, yeast and grain. Cheers!
Thank you for the game... and the video. It could be a fun yearly event. I'm a big fan of british bitter or brown beer and original west coast ipa... your triple double looked delicious.
@@TheBruSho The agony of defeat of iconic traditional beers, for the novelty of hazy beer. Fads come and go, but beer will always be relevant. The purist in me mourns the loss of all the iconic beer styles. In the 22nd century there will only be a product served called beer. It will not resemble anything ever brewed to this point.
Great vid Trent…still think you should brew the runner up for fun especially since it was the underdog but one of my favorite styles. Like Nike says. “Just do it”
Always love your videos! I was hoping something like a kolsch would have won, but it doesn't really matter because your production is always so good. Keep it up!
Not surprising that hazy ipa won the votes. They are very popular for a reason and also one of my favorites (recently bumped from my #1 by west coast pils). My only complaint about hazies are that they are usually too high of abv. I personally brew mine around 5% but most commercial examples are 7%+.
Porter should have taken the W, even a Vienna Lager would have been better then another hazy.... great video as always and great content 👏 👌 the competition was an awesome idea.
The style of hazy was started by Heady Topper which is bitter and juicy, but does not fit the narrative of the NEIPA of being not bitter, just juicy. Beer Advocate has Heady listed as an imperial IPA now. Still the best hazy beer I have ever drank.
this was amazing... what a brillant idea! I love Hazy, always have haze on tap... I can not wait until next year. how did one vote? I did not see any vids to vote? actually knew nothing of this tourny? anyways, great idea! cheers
Interesting poll results. With the final made up of two beers that I have never brewed TBH. But you’ve inspired me. So here goes, Porter first, the a a Hazy…..
I don’t know the exact breakdown of demographic that voted but I can tell you that only 40% of my channel viewers are from USA. (France is under 1% so thanks for being one of them!)
Pellets directly into the kegg = powdery "taste" (and probably some hop burn). What about a real challenge? : hazy IPA without dry hop step (YES no dry hop) and low in pellet ammount. That would be a real Champion. Git Gud or stay Nub.
Let me know what you thought of this tournament! I'd love to find more ways to involve you all in videos so any ideas are appreciated! 🏀

You could to a hop tournament for another IPA, where the final four are the hops for the beer but the winner is used in the highest quantity.

Ooh love that idea!
The Haze Train has no stops!
🚂 💨 choo choo brother 🍺
🚂🚂🚂
You should do another mashup with hops. and then make a beer with that hop. not a smash, but the hop flavors being the main show in a beer.
Can’t believe Lagers took the L’s so easily. Great video Trent, cheers.
Yeah for real! Thanks so much Blackwood
Dude I know!

Sweet video Trent… And even sweeter basketball jersey, cheers, dude 🍻
Thanks man! Sorry I had to ball out like that 😜
Great vidya. Awesome premise. Perfect drama. LOL. Very well done. Cheers.
😄 music certainly helps to make it dramatic!

I love a good hazy. I recently got pointed to electric brewery's Neipa water profile and man that has been the finishing touch on my hazy recipe.
Really Appreciate Your Video , Thanks ! 🐯🤠
Tripel Double is an awesome name. If the NBA wants some craft brews sold at the games they know where to go. Great vid idea!
Haha cheers! 🍻
Awesome video Trent! I can see why the hazy won... And that beer looks amazing! I love the no look basket! 😂 🍻
Haha the best shot I’ve ever made
Porters - when I wanna drink coffee but it's a beer.
Great vid Trent…still think you should brew the runner up for fun especially since it was the underdog but one of my favorite styles. Like Nike says. “Just do it”
I just did my first hazy last month. It was definitely a 1.0. I got some tips from a professional brewer and looking forward to version 2.0.😊
Maybe the popularity of lagers made people vote for an ale to win? I did Zamba hops for my tepache
Not sure! But fascinating to see either way. Was like some secret data collection haha
Great job man! Epic battle!
30,000 votes! Say man that's pretty cool. Such a nice even number. Iykyk
So interesting! Great vid 👏🍻

Vienna Lager had a Cinderella run

I got some in the fridge, great beer!
@@TheBruSho I how I wish to be able to rob-ugh join you for a Heady and a taste of your hazy.
Luc Longley jersey?
Damn that would have been a killer throw back. But its Jordan
Hey Trent, can you add the recipe to the description?

That’s the spirit!
Ok Porter done and racked for a few weeks. Interesting flavours already. Any idea of the best temp I should be storing Trent?
love the content man!
Do you know where are the voters located ? I think that in France where I live the results would be different !

@@TheBruSho thanks a lot ;)
Were you using the stock pump or a different one during whirlpool?
I was using the one they sell which is a Barracuda I believe.
How to make kvass from coconut water
This is you news video I miss Grand. He to me was The King of Random al he was awesome u like driving I mean drinking I love him I miss miss TH-cam
Wheres lambic?
I have lost all faith in the homebrew community. Porter by far is the superior beer.
Simple... the best beer is the one you have on hand... ok helles lost? I don't trust these results;)
Sour beer is disgusting . I’m SHOCKED about the lagers

I usually do my hazys no dry hop! But many ways to peel an onion (or hop a hazy)
@@TheBruSho just some cryo hops to reduce the sludge!
Ugh, that was disappointing (the results, not the video! I guess NEIPAs are still a thing)
