I often hear addicts say that their doctor got them hooked, but I just don't buy into that. 👍🍻🇺🇲

They actually do though. Oxycotin is 10 to 100 times more addictive than Morphine because it is much stronger and much shorter lived in effect, yet you aren't allowed to take Morphine home with you from a prescription due to the "risk of abuse." Fentanyl is thousands of times stronger than morphin, very short lived, and extremely addictive, being put under with medical Fentanyl before and during a surgery can lead to immediant opiod addiction, which can be disastrous if the patient is already prescribed another opiod they will have access to after the surgery. The benefiting family from the ownership of Oxycotin, who caused the opiod crisis, has spent millions in gifts, all expense paid conferences, prescription kickbacks to doctors, and lobbying and bribes to politicians to get Oxycotin approved and pushed onto every patient possible. They have more blood and suffering on their hands after decades than Pol Pot, whose reign of terror only lasted 4 years. Their name is the Sackler family.

I agree. The patient has to take some of the responsibility for their health. Most of them were drug seeking. I always hear I had a sore back. I have scoliosis and my back constantly hurts but there are alternatives to drugs.

@@sherrylleclerc5334 You don't understand. Once you are addicted, that's it, there is no helping yourself, you WILL get more. It's not like trying to lose weight or stop smoking, you feel like you are dying and suffering if don't get more. It transforms you into a different person. Doctors will prescribe this stuff with no regard for patient safety and risk vs reward as opposed to using a safer, lesser, pain management drug because they get KICKBACKS for high prescription numbers. They WANT you to get addicted, to keep asking for more. And some people are genetically predisposed to becoming addicted much faster and harder than the average person.

@@sherrylleclerc5334It’s still a doctor’s responsibility to judge whether or not a patient is in genuine pain or drug seeking. Also, prescription of painkillers should be dependent on need, not insurance rebates. It’s terrible for patients to be cut off and not titrated off from medications.

Sweetie, it wasn't you Doctor's fault. It says right on the order to "Take ONLY as prescribed", which means EXACTLY how it's written on the prescription. This includes when the Doctor DECREASES the medication & tapers you OFF of it. It does NOT mean take more than directed by increasing the dosage &/or frequency. It also does NOT mean find an alternate way to obtain the medication, which is ILLEGAL. It's actually pretty simple. If you consume anything on a daily basis, it's natural that your body &/or mind will increasingly develop a dependency on it - even sugar or caffine. That's why the Doctor tapers off by decreasing it over time. If you go against the order, that's on YOU.

Most the time they don’t realize the pain is coming from the “medication” withdrawal. And of course you feel better when you take them. Don’t be so judgmental, it takes one dumb decision to change ur path. I’m sure most people tried alcohol during teenage years. Same exact thing. Any decision can lead to death
