Yeahhh, Finally, we get to see Magnussen in a real motorsport class where actual racing is allowed. I'm looking forward to following BMW and Magnussen, and I congratulate both parties
@@Nichaansama I don't care at all, F1 has become a perfidious political circus, led by a power-hungry Arab who has no business in F1. So F1 is a thing of the past for me.
David got a couple of things wrong about KMag's F1 career. He spent only one full year with McLaren, and then almost all of 2015 as reserve. His year away from Haas was 2021, not 2020, and as such he scored his only pole position at the 2022 Sao Paulo Grand Prix during his first year back, not his second.
It`s good to see, that someone out there is paying attention, Looking forward to WEC 2025, and I hope he does better than the past two years, which weren`t that great........🤔 Anyway..........Still-Guns.....I wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.................🤗
It would be nice if he wins together with Dries Vanthoor, Raffaele Marciello and Philipp Eng the 24h of Daytona! Also a win of the Team Up with Sheldon Van der Linde, Rene Rast, Marco Wittmann and Robin Frijns would be Amazing
When you take a step back, I think this decision worked out very well for Kevin. Opting out of Peugeot, 2 additional years with Haas, then back in the WEC with BMW Hypercar program both in WEC/IMSA. When you look at the Peugeot, he made the right decision. He didn't get the F1 success, but I hope this gets him the big wins like Daytona, Lemans, Sebring, Petit and overall team championships.
I don't care which series KMag is in as long as he has a competitive car, and it seems like the BMW is the right fit in the right team (and the fact that he kinda gets to walk in his fathers shoes doesn't detract from that fact). Ofcause im a bit biased seeing as im Danish and live in KMag's hometown.
Yeah but there was also drivers like max hesse and Dan Harper and assumption last year bmw were considering bringing 3 m hybrid v8 so I think in 2025 we could see 3 bmw hypercar and I feel like the 3 car would go with the same line up of hesse Harper and Rossi
Interesting, I will now leave F1-2025, and follow BMW & Kmag team instead, looking forward to some nice battles with Ferrari (and another Dk-driver there) & Porche, and all the other nice Hypercars, - - and OFC LeMans IS A MUST SEE Thanks to Formula Jonah for this update - 1 like on the way.
The Magnussens are a perfect example of what's...(we'll be polite) weird about motorsport. Magnussen made it into F1 (I think his father may have test-driven an F1 car once or twice?)...but his father had a much more successful career and is better known among true motorsport fans for being a hell of a driver. Kevin still has time to become a race-winner/champion in some other motorsport, ideally WEC/IMSA. So it begs the question - would you rather be in F1 as a non-winning 'also-ran' competitor...or actually be winning and competing for podiums/wins in other motorsport? You get the glitz, the glamour, and the money...but you're not actually competing to win anything if you're not in the right handful of cars/teams in F1. Tough way to spend a career.
Jan Magnussen made an appearance in Japan 1995 in F1 replacing Mika Häkkinen in McLaren. He was under contract with Stewart Racing in 1997-1998. Jackie Stewart called him the most promising young driver to emerge since Ayrton Senna. He ran for 24 starts. Scored 1 point in his last start in Canada 1998. A race with a lot of crashes and two restarts. He was replaced by Jos Verstappen for the rest of the season. His other son Luca, 15 years old (Kevin's half brother) races in karting. Saw a documentary about Luca. Jan said that his biggest regret was being very young when Kevin was born and very busy with his career so he was never there just being a dad. He don't want to do the same mistake again.
I think KMag will do well, but do I wish the BMW wasn't so ugly. I get that BMW want their racing car to tie in with their road cars, only with their cars being so ugly that then means a ugly race car. Shame.
It's not even the car...it's the paint scheme. It's also a crime that BMW doesn't use the classic "black car/white car" system they've used in various motorsport endeavors.
Didn't he get fastest lap overall in his last F1 race. Apparently Kmag liked the last Hass upgrade which suited his driving style. I think he is a fenominal race car driver, but he needs to pick racing teams with a winning chance, then I am sure he will get the victories he never had a chance of securing in F1.

Huge thank you to Haas, now I have a much larger reason to dive into WEC
Welcome to Endurance Racing Family
Same here, F1 won't be on my TV screen in 2025, but WEC and LeMans 24h will instead. 😊

I never get tired of watching the TH-cam video from Laguna Seca 2009. Magnussen against Bergmeister. That was an epic battle. ☺

Great driver for BMW and WEC in general! Great battles and overtakings will come!
Jenson button, Antonio Giovinazzi, Kevin Magnussen, and possible hints of Logan Sargent. WEC interest is gonna be rising like mad if it isn't already.

He's scheduled for Daytona with R.L.L. also - got it from you. I was hoping he was going to be doing IMSA instead of WEC.
A good choice given his previous sports car record

Magnussen joining BMW....but he's too late....BMW left F1 after 2009.....
Sucks for him to be in Formula Renault 2.0 when that happened...
Out to pasture
"He showed great pace at his return in F1.” Are you sure about that? 🤔
Started with a p5 in bahrain. P9 or 8 in jeddag. And pole in brazil?
He did consistently beat Schumacher, and while later Nico Hulkenberg had the better of him, Magnussen still did pretty well
@KLAASTAD He got the pole because of a red flag. Under crazy conditions, anyone can score a hit. Back in the days even Oliver Panis won in Monaco.
