I've taken a lot of these (especially steampunk), used UV resin to adhere them onto a silicone mold, then fill the mold with Epoxy. I did this on my channel and made a light up frog this way. I love working with charms!! ❤❤
What I love about this channel is that you try things outside of the box. You’re always experimenting and trying new techniques! I’d love to see if a half deep pour in cab mold would work to keep shape better. But I can try this here too. I love your content 😇❤️
what a great idea, I really enjoy watching your experiments, it sets me old noggin firing in all directions. you are a natural teacher. I shall call you Sir
I can’t remember who’s video it was that I saw about 2mths ago now where the lady took transparent cording, stretched it tightly over an open area and then dripped tiny drops of uv resin onto the cording. She quickly cured the uv resin as it formed the tiniest raindrop appearance along the clear cord. She did this in multiple areas along the cord. She then combined several transparent cords with the same effect and made like a choker style and short necklace style jewelry piece. It was very delicate and beautiful. If I find the video I’ll let u know and share the link!
Hey Steve, what about bead molds for those chains? or those mini ball bolds, where you can just fill up one side (half), cure the chain into it, then turn it over for the other side? Just a thought.
I saw a video (can't remember where) that showed clear fishing line that someone dripped red UV resin on to make a necklace. I was thinking about doing something similar, but I want to attach pieces dangling down from a ribbon choker. I didn't think about using charms on them. I really love your ideas.
Hi Steve. Great concept video, I only have 2 concerns. 1. how do the charms lie on the body when on? does the chain flow well, does it look OK if the charms flip to the back when worn? 2. Do the edges of the charms get sharp, do you have to smooth the edges of the resin charms to keep them from scratching the skin? Thank you for another idea sparking video.
I would think they could turn sharp, but because they're going flat on the mat, there's no under pouring to make them really sharp. Maybe a sanding anyway though. Seems like the charms with the clear ones would wear similar on both sides, aside from being upside down, but the colored ones would hide the charms if they flipped. Steve is free to correct me, but that's my thoughts on it.
Good question! The edges are not sharp on the ones I made which was a concern for me. They could be lightly sanded if they did come out sharp. They do flip backwards and forwards. Going forward I will make them double sided. Hope that helps. 😀
Hi Steve. I like this idea. I have issues now, and for some reason, everything has to be equal and/or lined up perfectly, and I have tactile issues too; (I wasn't like this until I turned 65). So, I'm going to take your idea, but first, use small shaped molds to put everything in; then dab the resin onto the chain to hold them. This is a great idea. You've done it again. I'm going to try it on a bracelet too. I hope that it works. Please keep coming up with your ideas. Thankx.
I Enjoy your videos as always and love how unique this is! Been starting to get into the resin hobby and I always have chain and cord that I dont know what to do with. I wonder if it would work the same way with a singular pendent style with the chain/cord embedded like that? Not too big of course because of weight, but small medium-ish. And would the chain/cord discolor from the resin?
Hi Steve, I recently decided to learn how to make resin casts. I was looking through your videos and wanted to ask which brand would be the best to use for a deep pour? I appreciate the help. Have a wonderful day and rest of your week. I have enjoyed watching your videos, I will subscribe and thank you for providing informative content as well as some beautiful designs.
I tried to order the black pot like you use for dipping pieces into uv resin and didn't get the correct item. I ended up with a 12 pack of 15g cosmetic containers that are too small. Where can i order the one exactly like you have been using? I have pieces ready to be finished by dipping and im still at a stand still. Any advice would be so greatly appreciated
i do't like the look of them as necklaces, and I think they would roll around a lot. But.... I think they would make excellent bracelets where they would sit flat against the skin and the charms wouldn't catch in clothing etc because they are encased in the resin.
Oh, heck.. I have ruined some of my best molds by forgetting to take out the excess, because I was intending to use them for excess resin, but I forgot. So having been sitting in the molds for a year, they simply wouldn't come apart. So don't leave the resin in the mixing tubs or the molds, and if you're planning on using them for excess resin, leave them where you can see them!! lol
This feels like a great incomplete idea. As is it's not going to wear well, there will be rough edges on the back, and they will likely flip over if you have not paid attention to the natural position of the chain as well as shifting weight towards the bottom.
I believe it will work & I’m excited to see how this turns out 🫶🏽🫶🏽 If it works then my head is already spinning with ideas 🤯😂🫶🏽🙌🏽 Thank you for sharing your ideas. You always make me smile. God Bless you dear
Pretty neat idea Steve! You are looking great, take care! Hugs and Love -Beverly
I love this idea! Thanks, Steve 😊
You're so welcome!
I’d never have thought of this! Thanks for sharing.
Glad it was helpful!
I have an oddball random collection of little charms from the past few decades that I never had a use for. Now I do👍👍👍👍👍
That is awesome!

This technique opens up so many possibilities.
So many!!
Definitely a different concept. Very interesting.. Thank you Steve
That was a different idea. How do you keep coming up with new stuff after all this time of doing your channel? I guess I'm just not as creative. LOL
lol. I spend a lot of time thinking about ideas lots don’t make it to video. It can be frustrating but at the same time I do enjoy it.
We had the same thought and it is a success!
That’s great news.
Well done Steve! What a fantastic idea!
Brilliant, Steve! You're a genius!!❤❤❤
What a neat idea! I think they all look really great! I love your experiments!

how fun and simple and cute!
Thank you! I've been working on a project and this idea just made everything so much easier and stronger!
What a great look. The clear was neat because the charms sort of looked like they were floating around the chain. All were really pretty and cool.😅
What a great idea! Thank you for sharing. ❤❤
Love this
Thank you
I like them all!
Cool idea!!! Thank you for sharing ❤❤❤
The blue and charms is really cute!
Really great simple idea!
What a clever idea! Nice one Steve!

Great idea! I love your experiments 😊
Nice idea. The colored resin came out great. Thank you for another wonderful video.
I think that would work better as a bracelet. Thanks for the inspiration.
This reminds me of stuff I used to do with glue as a kid. I totally need to try it just because it looks so darn fun!
On the clear one, could you burnish in some mica, then back it with black?
I was going to say the same thing. Lol
I love this idea ❤❤❤
Very cool idea! One can go crazy with this!
Such a neat idea! Thank you so much for sharing!!!❤
This is such a good idea. Very nice.
I was admiring a woman’s necklace and thinking about resin and here you are a few hours later. Thanks
What a great idea Steve, thank you :)
I love this Steve! TYSM for sharing! I hope you had a great holidays and a wonderful new year!

I actually like the clear one best Steve❤
Super! Love it! I have seen it done also with fishing line (invisible).
Glad I joined!
Brilliant! Thank you!❤
Great idea Steve! ❤

Will the resin edges be sharp?
I think it would look even better if you put resin on the back as well
They would look good with the silver charm in the resin hanging from the chain (so they are not over the chain and look like they are floating).
So clever! Would combining this with your pill casing idea be useful?
For more uniformity, I would use molds. Unmold and then attach to the chain and add the charms

I’m thinking wind chime strands or window hangers😊
I love them all
Love it!
Really cool

Cool ideas thanks! I guessed you could put a colour on the back of the clear ones? Laurie. NZ. 😊

If have put some colour on the back of the clear ones. - you still can
I can see halloween eyeball, christmas bauble and easter egg chokers
🥰

Every time I cure my uv resin it comes out tacky. Even if I cure it for 5 minutes. Any ideas why this might be happening?
