I play with short pimples no sponge on the backand. Against backspin I let the ball come to me and let it drop slightly then hit it with a fast lifting punch. Hit a lot of clean winners. Last night I played a bloke that had the most spin on his chops and pushes I have ever encountered and had a bit of trouble lifting them. I didn't allow the ball to drop before I hit the backhand as he was a good player and I was a little anxious. Lost 3-0 11-5, 11-5 and 12-10. I was closing in. I'm playing tonight and gonna really let them rip tonight. Punching with short pips is the ONLY way to go. I use inverted on the forehand.
