I love Billy Ocean, he has a distinctive voice. All professionals can start off slightly off. I admired Adele once for stopping, sayingI went wrong there and starting again. That’s not so easy during a live show with dancers and a time constraint.
He was off during the middle segment, not terribly, but it was there. He still has his voice though, and I admire him for not going down the syncing road.
It was nowhere near as bad as the DM implies, but they do like to stir up a hateful crowd.

I'm not that young or old , I love his voice and music. It's very true a lot of nasty cruel spiteful people but it's in someone to be nasty from my experience, no matter what their age.
Saw some negative comments in the press about this but can't hear what the problem is. Sure he's not a young man anymore and I'm not qualified to comment on the technicalities of singing but as a casual observer I enjoyed the performance.

Ever notice BBC allows comment on videos related to celebrities and entertainment but not on current events? Authoritarian regimes operate their state run media in the same fashion.
They allow content on Current Affairs. The comments are enabled on the BBC News channel most of the time. It's usually the opposite with their entertainment programmes. I guess they made an exception here due to the legendary status of Billy Ocean
