I guess you're referring to me - though we're both called Mike, Mike Fernandez (ADSPP) uses a wooden shaft. I still have the wooden shaft that came with my cue when I bought it but actually now have grown to prefer the carbon fibre. As a former snooker player from the UK I only ever played with wood (maple being my preference) and nobody uses the glove over there, so that;'s another thing I've gotten used to... ...now as for my "fundamentals", I've been trying to fix them for the past 45 years since I first picked up a cue and hit a ball. I'm always striving, always studying, always trying to get those fundamentals right and most importantly, keep them that way. It's true I don't practice as much as I should, sometimes only playing the two nights a week I'm in the league, but that's life. If you have some constructive criticism @shoosh I'd love to hear it. I regard myself as an enthusiast and a life-long student of the game. And I'm not just learning about pool. I'm learning about myself and I'm learning about life.
