I remember gametron the last time I was in there one of the guys that worked there was bragging about his self defence skills and asked me to stick out my arm. I was just a kid at the time so without thinking about it I did and he then did that thing where you twist someone’s wrist the wrong way. That shit hurt!

Great video and nice pickups. Start with Assassin's Creed 2. Back in the day that delayed intro shot blew me away. I love the PS3. Smaller cases than 360 & Wii so you can fit more on your shelves. Bonus! +the discs have that protective coating to prevent beer damage. Nice to see Shenmue 1 & 2 get a look in. Picked up a Japanese release of it (Shenmue US) edition, in a nice pink slip case, late last year. A classic.
Interesting about AC it seems everyone has a personal favourite. Nice pickup with the Shenmue matey and didnt know PS3 disc have extra layer of protection !!!! Thanks for sharing this info matey 😉😎🍺
Terraria is such a good game, I was convinced it would have a manual as it did on PS4 and Wii U but there isn’t one on PS3. Avoided buying it for ages as I wanted it complete but great fun to play. Always enjoy the videos!
Cheers matey... Yep looks an interesting game and would imagine no manual as probably plays through at the start with tutorials? I will soon find out buddy 😉
I have just found out this morning that just over an hours bus ride away is a retro games shop I cannot go till end of this week coming omg I am so silly excited right now!!
Fantastic vid as always OG, Assassins Creed is one of my all time favs, start with 2 imo, the 2nd one was perfect, in my top 5 videogames of all time. You won't be disappointed! Also Black Flag is really cool too esp if u like Pirates, best Pirate game ever!
I know the one your on about he slammed the game my brother was buying on the counter and broke the case. That then sparked off a shouting match between him and one of the other employees 😂 I’m shocked he’s still there.
Unlucky with the pleasant chap at Cex OGDuffy, I’ll be going to Hereford CEX tomorrow after a failed attempt at CEX roulette online, hoping for some better stock in store and perhaps a Stella unfiltered if all goes well 😅
Shenmue 1 and 2 are pretty good for if your after martial arts orientated story that is of Virtua Fighter by its combat system and reenactment of general life and the wonderings you may do along with as interact to. The HD edition of them is the better deal and quite inexpensive when on sale digital store wise or not too costly physically. 2 allows you to skip time for proceeding with story parts unlike 1.
Terraria didnt come with a manual mate only the white sleeve sheet , however the Japanese version did it was like a reddish maroon colour so maybe it was a Pal thing , maybe the European version did or the US version . Checked but could only source it sealed from those regions . Good vid though mate have a good weekend 😊
Thanks for confirming matey I am looking forward to giving it a play. Looks an interesting title... Might play it as part of a game and beers session video 😎😉🍺

Yeh got sorted in the end pal you should try out kings lynn sometime they got a big town centre and big cex there and loads of charity shops and a great independent retro games shop called the retro retreat 👍
Terraria is a fantastic game, it's Minecraft but 2D and way bigger in scope, however it has had a lot of updates which are no longer on the PS3 version. It still gets updates today so definitely better to get the PS4 version but £2 you can't complain.
I loved Assassins creed black flag for just about everything it offered. The first one does a good job at setting the franchise up which you could be confusing depending where you jump in, mind you I stopped playing after syndicate and it's been ages since then. Burnout paradise was so good, I never got round to playing the dlc though. The price of some retro games are insane, and with no other way to play most of them you can't knock emulation
Agreed with the emulation matey... Some classics that we can all visit 😉 As for AC it seems everyone has a diffferent take on the series with their own personal favourite one 😎
Start with assassins creed 1. It is the beginning after all. A lot of the games have cliff hanagar endings setting it up for the next one. Ac1 on ps3 doesnt have trophy support. The xbox has achievements. It also backwards compatible on xbox one. So i would pick it up on the xbox.
Its a strange one as so many different views on this series.... Does not seem to be a standout which is obvious favourite. Cheers for your thoughts matey 😉
The burnout ultimate box has some of the dlc but they released even more after the games release that isnt on disc. I would get the remastered version on ps4 with all the dlc.

Agree with you and the fanbase.... The responses on here are all over the place in relation to which one to play.... No obvious favourite coming through at the moment....
Shenmue on Dreamcast does not hold up. The remade version on last gen consoles is okay but still feels old. The problem is it was so ahead of its time that it aged fast and got shown up by the next console generations. Where as less ambitious games are a lot more timeless.

Definitely for Emulation, retro games are stupidly expensive and if companies are unwilling or can't re-release older games for reasonably prices then we are left with no other choice. Buying retro games from resellers ain't making money for the devs or publishers anyway so I see no harm... basically abandonedware anyway. I do think it's wrong though if the console is still available to buy i.e Switch etc. unless you own the game and are just backing it up
Some good valued points there matey... I know Nintendo are suing a company that has developed a card for playing roms on the Switch at the moment... Or stopping them trading or something along those lines.... Cant blame them either as the system is still selling etc. As we say when a system is no longer being supported and the companies have moved on then emulation seems fair.

Assassins Creed games are a weird one....... Some of the older ones are amazing, but the controls struggle too carry over after so many years. Firstly, if you are going too play, be ready for a long session, exploration and frustration (handling controls) in the early games. They are very good, very atmospheric, and for me.... This may sound strange, but they are winter games. Nothing better than cold, dark outside, being in your warm games room, with a pint playing AC. If you want the authentic experience, play the Ezio Collection first. If you want a more modern game, play Assassins Creed Odyssey, great story, great combat, beautiful locations and easily the best control system. Avoid Valhalla.... It isn't bad per se', i mean visually it's breath taking, but it is way too vast, way too long, way too spaced out in terms of locations and in all honesty, a bit of a ball ache. I was 20 plus hours in and just gave up.
As you say gotta be prepared to put many hours into it.... Maybe I will wait till the summer passes... That said so many games on the PS3 require hours of input, just started Fallout the weekend 😎😉🍺

Hi matey, Cambridge was great and well worth a visit... And your right the pub was the Regal Wetherspoons. A great spoons that one 2 bars too 😉🍺

Very unique games for the time and still stand up today me thinks... But, for me, that arcade was where it was at in Shenmue 1 😎🍺
The first few assassin's creed games starring Desmond Miles are my favourites.
Really need to give this franchise some time

Weird coincidence, my family and I went to the same CeX yesterday!
Awesome matey !!!! Did you pick anything up?
Yes! I picked up a Wii Motion Plus to play Wii Sports Resort with another player 😎
Loved Shenmue 1 & 2 on the Dreamcast, but they haven't aged well against the Yakuza series, played them all on the PS3 & Gamepass, brilliant 👍
got a Yakuza game, still not played it yet... I think you can visit an arcade in a similar vain to Shenmue?
Yes you can mate, Yakuza 0 is set in the 80's, so you get all the classics from that era 👍
