This time my CEX Challenge is all about collecting for the Playstation 3 console. The PS3 has some amazing games that can be got for a really decent price at the moment... So jump onboard with OGDuffy as we take on the Maidstone CEX PS3 Challenge.
Usually in these challenges I set three simple rules which are:
1 - Stay within budget...
2 - No doubles, do not buy any games I already own...
3 - No sports titles, unless its a boxing game...
So join me OGDuffy as we visit the Maidstone CEX and see exactly how many PS3 Video Games we can get for our £20 budget?
Searching the shelves in CEX is always fun as you never know what you will see and trust me the Maidstone CEX does not disappoint in the ultimate bargain hunt to see how many Playstation 3 games can be had for £20 !

Hi matey I’m based in Kent so loads of my vids are Kent based matey… Plenty of places I am sure you will recognise 😉
When I visited the UK, I never seen a new stock section with my CeX shops. The CeX stores I've visited were Stirling, Tottenham Court Rd, Rathbone Place, Windsor, and Feltham. My favourite was in Stirling, followed by Windsor, then Feltham, then Rathbone Place, then the only one I didn't like was the Original Tottenham Court Rd store.
Gotta love a good CEX store…. Chatham in Kent is one of my favourites 😀

I have had great fun playing John Woo Stranglehold, a very underrated 3rd person shooter, similar to Max Payne with some awesome environmental destruction! Really fun game!
I’ve got that on the shelf and yet to play so there maybe a game I visit soon buddy 😀
I also bought South Park the Stick of Truth this week as well, great minds think alike I guess. Great vid as always mate, PS3 is so great if your collecting on a budget like me.

Seeing that copy of Kuon reminded me of another expensive ps2 game that is currently stocked at Canterbury Cex, behind the counter for £550!!! These obscure survival horror games just keep going up and up.
It seems to be a very good niche for collectables 😀
Great haul. Sleeping Dogs is a future classic and Stick of Truth is a truly great game, they really nailed it with that game.

Punch-out Wii is really good. It was sold on the ol’ Wii waggle mechanics, but you can also play it NES style by holding the Wiimote sideway where it’s just perfect.
Might have to invest in this one matey 😀
OG that Punchout game is a classic.
Picked it up for £8 in Cex many moons ago & one night after a few beers while the wife was out, I played it on the living room 55in TV.
When she came home there I was bathed in sweat after getting to the 7th fighter😂😂😂
Absolutely worth every penny of the £28 notes with its classic Nintendo gameplay & just one more go appeal.

Both the Prototype games are bloody awesome OG! Well worth your time and especially more so at that price! Not too far from the spiderman games in the way you can run up the sides of buildings and across rooftops etc, the fighting mechanics are brilliant. Solid story too with a dark comic feel.

Love this type of videos! Also really loved The Stick of Truth, played it through a couple of times and completed all achievements earlier this year. It’s pretty fun to be part of a long South Park episode and it also teached me about the existence of Dungeons and Dragons (I’m young 😅)

Sleeping Dogs is a masterpiece - plays like a GTA with missions and driving etc but the combat is a bit different, more punching and kicking than guns.
Prototype 1 was great and I've heard good things about the second one. It's a bit like a spiderman game without the Spiderman skin.
I've played HAWX as well, a solid 7/10 game and something a different from what I would usually play.

I have stuff going back as far as ZX81… But I don’t really collect for those systems now matey. More 8 bit console onwards now 😀

Bought the remastered sleeping dogs cheap from the xbox store.Didn't know anything about it really but what a fantastic game.Second only to GTA Vice City for me in it's category.

Sleeping dogs is a brilliant game, it’s basically GTA in Hong Kong, definitely worth playing.
Prototype 2 is great as well, you have superpowers and cause carnage, it’s good fun 😊

Noticed Dynasty Warriors 6! One of my favourites growing up played it for hours! Very repetitive though the DW games. Just subscribed aswell Beer and Games what more can a man ask for! 👍🍻

i went down my local cex and retro shop for stick of truth today, wasnt in either, came home, second vid i put on, played it years ago but never finished.

Great pick ups! Sleeping Dogs, Prototype 2 and Stick of truth are all great games! Punch out for the wii is a good game and an essential in any wii collection.

I’ve recently finished sleeping dogs and it was a great game I’m not a massive fan of GTA style games but this one got me hooked

I bought Kuon from a Morrisons store for £5, it was really strange to see a ps2 in there. Never got round to playing it and later sold it on for £350

If you see this! I actually own Kuon haha. I've got it sitting in a shelf at home. It's an incredible game, one of From Software's earliest. My disc is in ok condition but has a tiny crack close to the hole in the middle, no worries though! I don't think I could ever sell it tbf! Surprised to see how much it's worth now though! I also have a sealed copy of the UK version of Rule of Rose so we'll see if I ever get round to playing that now I've seen how much it's worth!

Sleeping dogs is a great pickup, seen videos of it online and it looks great, i have it but unfortunately everytime i try to play it, it keeps making my ps3 turn off,

Nice one mate what I’ve been collecting recently are ps4 vr games really cheaply priced at moment so worth picking up even new ps4 vr games on eBay are very well priced picked up 20 from one store other day ! I definitely would pick up bioshock 1-2 ultimate rapture edition before it’s to late for ps3 CeX have 3 in stock at £10 each I picked my copies up at £6 a piece, it contains all the added extra content on disc and once ps3 store shuts down will be only way to play it , don’t even think Xbox 360 got the added content version !

I have a copy of Kuon! I paid a lot less than that for it, many moons ago. Why is it expensive/rare? It’s Survival Horror (which is a niche), and not many were printed as a result. It’s a From Software game, pre Souls and all that stuff. Kuon is still on my To Play list - I adore Survival Horror, my favourite genre.

I believe kuon was a horror title that didn’t so do so well on release and with it being a ps2 exclusive makes it harder to find compaired to say the resident evil series or any well sold big title horror game on the PlayStation 2
These horror titles all seem to do well in terms of values and this one is certainly no exception !!!!! Out of my price range 🤣

Guess what? I bought Kuon in 2010 for £9.99. I then sold it as I thought it was a bit odd and not that good.....to say it makes me feel sad seeing how much it is worth now is an understatement..

I have a few games from CEX. The only thing I dont like is that some of them have one of their sticky labels on the manuals inside the case and they wont come off 🤬

Sleeping dogs is amazing!! I got the plat on ps4 and eventually wanna get the Plat on ps3.. it's underrated. I loved South park when I was younger, when I couldn't sleep would put it on as knew it'll be on😂

Psp and vita ...but yeah I get ya, backwards compatible ps3 for 1/2/3 and a PS5 for 4/5 although not all physical PS4 games play on ps5 there are some with issues

The first 3 Splinter Cell games, i appreciated more as i got older, i will be honest here, as great as original games are, playing them on the Series X or PC is incredible, with the crisper 4K visuals, it does make certain mission objectives easier because everything is so much clearer....... However, the original is still great and the first 3 are very methodical, stealthy and a lot of fun.
It was only the Splinter Cell games that came after the first 3, that became a more run, cover, shoot style..... You certainly can do them stealth like, but they are catered for a more ''John Woo'' approach.
Still, they are all great games and i wish they would release a brand new one.
Sleeping Dogs is ace.... There is a mission in it, where you enter a tournament like Bruce Lee's 'Enter the Dragon'', well worth anyone's time.
I’m looking forward to Sleeping Dogs as loads on here said it’s a great game 😉
As for Splinter Cell very unique for the time but not sure I have the patience for stealthy games these days 🤣🍺

Sleeping dogs is a great pick up. I have got 100% completion on it including the dlc on the PS3, PS4 and Xbox 360

The Wii version of Punch Out is a decent enough game, but I wouldn't spend £28 on it.
Will keep an eye out for it... Hopefully get it at a decent price 😉

Personally go for PS3 or Xbox 360 both have a huge back catalogue and cheap titles and heavy hitters too. 😉

in the netherlands ps2 and ps3 controllers are easily found on flee markets for way cheaper.
so probaly u can find them cheaper there in the uk too

ps3 is terrible these days bro, most games run at 30 fps... Small selection run at 60 fps...
