You know what grinds my gears…the fact that we only get one fives a crowd podcast a week. You guys are hilarious and I love the variety of different topics you cover. Would love to see your wives do a podcast too. 🙂
Cam, concerning your comment regarding older people not learning technology… I’m 67 years old, I’ve had a mini stroke and because of this I have short term memory problems. I have learned how to use technology and for the parts of it that I use daily I can remember how to do it. However, those things that I don’t have to do daily I can’t remember how to do them. Some things my daughter has told me how to do SO many times and because I don’t do it daily, I forget how to do it. So it’s not always because the older people don’t want to learn.
I swear we have had this exact conversation, essentially outlining the hypocrisy of the whole transgender movement, last weekend at dinner in my house! So glad to finally know there are other millennials out there with a brain!! ❤❤❤
Not gonna lie I was looking the the comment section to find a dumpster fire but found nothing. 😂 I love y'all's podcast! You talk about what literally all of us are thinking!
I know this is a year late, but as for the elderly learning new technology, both of my parents were very fluent in computers, phones, etc, but as they aged they lost the ability to keep up, and then lost the ability to use it at all. My dad passed with dementia, and we had the first gaming systems (Pong!), and he played games through his early 70’s, then his health started changing and he slowly lost his ability to play the games he had played forever. Then stopped using any technology at all, though the desire was there, he just couldn’t anymore. So when older people come in for customer service and are frustrated and seemingly clueless, just remember they’re probably covering for the actual fear and embarrassment they’re feeling for not being able to do what was once automatic.
Okay I am ridiculously happy that you brought up the whole transgender in sports topic! I may be looking for confirmation bias, but it just ticks me off! Chris's comment about digging up Bones in 20 years is factual! Hey they can live however they choose to identify ( I identify as a millionaire 😁) but there has got to be a line drawn when it comes to the sporting world.
The line is reality. You know you’re not a millionaire but you can sure try to live that way. Eventually reality will bring you back to ur senses. I’m all for dressing how you choose, wear makeup or not but pretending to be something you just aren’t won’t change the actual facts. It makes me sad that instead of focusing on making these ppl accept and love themselves, they choose to feed the delusion
I worked at a customer service call center and everything they asked for a supervisor they would say the same thing we just said and all of a sudden it's an okay answer because there is a team lead or supervisor next to their name. That grinds my gears
My brother-in-law took his car in to a mechanic shop (can't remember the name of the chain) to have some work done. They told him a few things needed to be replaced, so he paid to have it done. Fast forward about 3 years, he was having some issues with it, so he took it to a local mom and pop mechanic shop. Turns out, the stuff that he paid to get replaced 3 years ago, he was charged for and the work was never done.
I started watching y’all from the Men Try site and I have looked forward to Monday morning with the five of you ever since 😂❤️ I don’t have any issues with how anyone chooses to live their life- identify as a pony who cares- HOWEVER women have fought long and hard to be recognized in sports, college, politics and everything else… so I honestly don’t care if you tucked it or chopped it, the rest of the physical attributes remain and give unfair advantage. Look at the “wingspan” of Michael Jordan, now just try to find a woman who has the same physical characteristics…. 🤔 Solution has been available for a long time- coed sports.
Speaking about the supervisor not having your back, I had that issue back during the pandemic. The state had suspended our refund policy so we weren't taking anything back. Guy comes in and wants to return a box of yams because they had bought 2 boxes but realized they didn't need that much. I apologized to him and told him we couldn't return anything because our refund policy was suspended. He called me a liar because he had returned something the other day (which is totally possible since the one guy at night ignores the rules and gives people what they want so he doesn't have to deal with them) and then proceeded to say I was being racist and wanted to speak to the manager. I called her up, explained what happened and she went up to him and said, "Okay, no worries, we'll return that for you". She didn't even try to defend me by saying, "Well, she was just following the policy but, we'll do it for you this time" or whatever. She made me seem like I was just some racist a-hole. I was soooo angry.
💯 on transgender sports. Create another category. We have distinction between male and female in every single sport, as well as we have Olympics and paralympics why don't we have, on all the events, the transgender category? I believe there are athletes who maybe would like to transition but don't want to purely because of the perception and judgement after the change. I think it is difficult enough to not feel ok in yourself and maybe some athletes do not want to add an extra stress. Also as a parent I would pull my girl out from any contact sport if she was to compete with transgender person for the safety only.
It is actually taught in driver’s education and stated by the DMV that a right hand turn or ANY turn should be following the road you are driving in. The shoulder is NOT to be used to pull over to turn. If you are on a road that has an off ramp then they have an off ramp that they can easily continue doing the speed limit and exit to begin slowing down. Otherwise the shoulders of roads are not built to hold the continuous weight of a constant group of people forced to use the shoulder to make a right hand turn. There goes part of your tax money to continue fixing the shoulders of roads.
I had to take over POA for my folks. Mom had her check book all jacked up. It took me about 3 months to get it figured out. My folks both had dementia. So there was no way they could do the tech things.
My husband and I were hit by a drunk driver. There were people waiting for a train and the Jerk was running from the cops and hit 5 cars and all those cars rammed into us. I was far enough back from the car in front of us that I didn't hit them. If I had they would have gone into the path of the train. The cop pulled the drunk out of his car and beer cans came tumbling out. He was 18 and driving on his mom's ins. I had a chipped vertebrae in my neck so they had to pack me off in an ambulance. We had 3 years of intense PT and Chiropractic. UGH. Dealing with their ins was a pain in the butt. So drunk drivers really tick me off.
You should pull up The LA speed story on the SR 71 Blackbird. My dad worked on the blackbird. The LA speed story will have you laughing your blank off . My dad was out of CA in the 60's.
A similar thing happened to us. We were pulling out of a parking spot looked both ways started to roll out and a lady ran a stop sign in a mall parking lot and slammed into the front side of our car destroying rods and the wheel among other things. The police officer took the report got witness testimony and everything, and decided it was her fault. The insurance company said no, it was our fault because we were pulling out of the parking spot, she did not run a stop sign and it didn't matter what the witnesses and the police report said because it was a third party. This lady was going so fast that we looked left, and no one was there, then right and no one was there and by the time we started to pull out while looking left again she was seconds from hitting us.
What is the point of a police report then if the insurance companies can just ignore it? At that point the police should get to do whatever they have to on the Insurance company,
I think as far as the sports argument goes that we should keep the mens and womens leagues that already exist and start to establish a coed league for everyone transitioning/who has transitioned one way or the other so that way it’s all still separate but we have a more fair competition in each sporting event that takes place.
The problem with that is that they try to have separate bathrooms that would be gender neutral but some people didn’t think that was good enough because they wanted to identify with the gender they were identifying with and claimed they should be entitled to use that specific bathroom. The same would be brought up here that they identify as girls so they absolutely want to play with the girls so that they’re not discriminated
Back in like 2008 I was ripped off by AAMCO transmissions .. I just needed to have the transmission fluid checked (which was fine) however they hit me with urgently needing to have the wheel bearings replaced and they made it seem like I could get in to a serious accident if it didn’t get replaced right than and there so I told them to go for it.. they quoted me at almost $700 so I said fine.. I think I had to go in to work so I sent my dad and brother to pick up my car and when they got hit with the bill they were really pissed off that they ripped me off like that cause they could have replaced it themselves for about $100 (price of parts) lesson learned.. I now just have my husband handle anything car related ..
Oh this was a great one. Being I used to do Medical Coding and Insurance Billing. I’m not as popular with my peers because of this subject. The medical industry is changing as a whole but we still had to report according to biology…
The Walmart one! Oh NO!!! Beard and I were shopping. Ready to pay for our stuff. We just wanted to get in and out. The lady checking us out stood there admiring our items “Oh wow this looks so cool! I should get one of my own. What’s this? WOW look James! Have you seen anything so cool?” Beard and I want to be nice but are looking at each other like “A line has formed. We only have 3 things.” We didn’t mean to be mean. We didn’t want anyone else to have to wait…
I work at a Liquor store and a lady came in to buy our product and I didn't have 3 cents to give her. She got so mad that cussed me out, slammed the counter and just walked out. I was like. My god. If its that's important I'll give you a nickel. Will an extra 2 cents help? 🤣🤣🤣.
Cars these days are way too difficult to work on. Even a simple headlight replacement can be extensive. I miss being able to change my own oil, fixing an alternator, belts, spark plugs, ect... I now have a VW and there is now way I can do my own work on that thing
My daughter played baseball with boys and girls. But if she was a teen, there is no way I'd let her a play on or against a team with trans. Men who transition still have the physical power of a man. I would look for teams that separate them. I would not let my child get hurt. I don't care what people do, they can be what ever they like. But I will take care of my child. I don't want a trans going into the bathroom with my child. I've heard the horror stories. It's gone to far. I agree with Cam, they can live and do whatever but don't force it on me. 😊
Your right guys there are divers that drive wrong, people taking there anger out on you. This is not fun at all. I treat others how I want to be treated. Nice episode guys.
On that point about being asked 'do you work here', I work at a local supermarket and one thing that grinds my gears, when I'm on a checkout and a customer comes and asks 'are you open'? and I'm like 'No i'm just standing here for the hell of it!' Or sometimes I've been asked if I'm open in the middle of serving someone else and like 'can't you see I'm working right now?' Also I agree on the cyclists! They should pay some sort of tax or something to be on the roads!
Thank you. I do not understand why it’s been ok for transgender to be in a sport. I have nothing against the person but it’s not fair to people who have trained there whole life. Can they have transgender sports??
I go by the old saying..."you attract more bees with honey than vinegar" you only hurt yourself when you go full "Karen" By the way Cam, i knew you were just joking during the moon landing episode. i have never felt more called out before...LOL I Do love you guys!!!!
The transgender topic is very touchy. I have a friend who is trans. I want to be super supportive but, I have to agree to an extent that it feels sorta unfair when it comes to competing in sports. On another note, from what I heard from another friend, Lia Thomas isn't dominating in *all* swim categories so they argue that she doesn't necessarily have any unfair advantages. I don't truly know much about sports so, I will refrain from arguing for either side on that topic.
I hate people that tailgate. I also hate when people do not use their flipping blinkers. We had someone pass us on the shoulder but he did not see the state patrol up ahead. We had someone in front of us so we could not speed up anyway. So he got pulled over. LOL
I'd probably drive you guys nuts, I'll be in a store see a person on same isle as me and I'll be like hey I know you don't work here but what do you think of this or do you happen to know where this would be. And honestly most people are helpful with their opinions or giving me a general idea where something might be and they're right there so I'm not having to track down an employee. Or even if im looking at say spices and I can't find one in particular I'm looking for same thing I'll look at person next to me like hey am I blind or is this not here and they'll give a quick glance and help look 🤷♀️
I agree with the trans gender. But I think teenagers should wait till they are adults to change. And my nieces high school jus spent 5 months arguing about these kids sharing locker rooms and bathrooms. I do not think that should be allowed
The worst driving and drivers I have seen are in America. I lived in the UK and traffic flowed way better, and there is way less accidents. I never saw an accident, and despite traffic cameras, and traffic cops, I never saw anyone pulled over the whole time I lived there. There’s actually no such thing as “the fast lane.” Everyone is legally supposed to drive in the right hand lane unless passing. You get people holding up traffic by driving in all the lanes and having people across three lanes driving the same or similar speeds and making it impossible to pass when needed.
hm. Then I do something wrong. I am nice, friendly and I know I need help and you can help me fix it. Either people think I am fake or ... I don't know.... Most people seem annoyed when I ask them something. However, I live in Germany. We are not really known for our splendid customer service...;)
Sorry to say it... Utah drivers are the worst! I lived in Bountiful, and Layton area for a few years. And every time go back, my driving skills I learned from living there comes back. As a defense mechanism lol
Me at 19 years old (driving from West Bountiful where I worked to Layton where I lived) I was in my '86 Pontiac fiero, V6, 4 on the floor, going 80 mph. Some Jack ass in a lifted truck came up behind me. Tailgating me. When he got the chance, he passed me on the left and flipped me off after almost hitting me to squeeze in between me and the other vehicles.
I'd like to request kindly that you use another term then "Karen" for those who are obnoxious. I'm told I don't have any of those traits and having the name Karen sometimes causes prejudices as it has become a widely used term. Help me to stop this please. A little can go a long way. By the way I love your show as well as Men Try and Jess & Austin. You bring evite and knowledge to my life.
We will do our best, just know it's a very coined term, and we're definitely not aiming it at you! Meme culture is unique, and we're sorry your name was the one selected for that term. My grandma was an absolute saint, also named Karen, and even when I crack a 'Karen' joke, I'd never think to include her in that group of people. It's more so a label of a group of rude individuals than targeting specific people named Karen, if that makes sense. Almost as if 'Karen' had multiple definitions. Just know if you're part of the crowd and we ever crack that joke, it's never targeted at you. You're our Karen. The best kind.
This episode made me and alot of my friends and family angry in regards to the Transgender topic. You are all so blind and unwilling to open your eyes and truly go and check out everything what these people go through mentally every single day. Many trans people will end up dead because the depression gets so severe either because lack of help of fear of letting people know and you guys are complaining about trans people being in sport get a grip and grow up. Put the sport to one side and think of this hypothetically speaking say one of your kids realise that they are in the wrong body, and they feel they are female not a male or a male not a female and feel trapped in their body. But because of they way they have heard you talk about trans people they are to afraid to talk and things get to much for them. Stop being negative we are in 2022 and you are complaining about them being in sports! Wake up and realise that your negativity can have a knock on effect especially when you have kids!
I think YOU need to grow up! They started their discussion with the comment that they understand the mental / emotional upheaval that the person is going through. YOU'RE the one not listening to the discussion (and fact) that being inherently a certain gender in sports (aka male born) WILL give you an unfair advantage in most female physical sports arenas. GET off your soapbox and give up your woe-is-me attitude long enough to listen to another person's opinion before trying to shame them with your "you're going to be the reason they kill themselves" commentary. I don't normally comment at all but your attack was really uncalled for!
You know what grinds my gears…the fact that we only get one fives a crowd podcast a week. You guys are hilarious and I love the variety of different topics you cover. Would love to see your wives do a podcast too. 🙂
After 17 years in service I want to thank Zack for bringing up the supervisor going against policy that grinds my gears too.
Anybody notice at 59:19 Chris grabs Cam's hand? I just noticed that and it made me laugh so hard!😂😂😂
Cam, concerning your comment regarding older people not learning technology… I’m 67 years old, I’ve had a mini stroke and because of this I have short term memory problems. Go Tony!! Thank you for bringing this up. It’s a real conversation that needs to be had
It's true! My dad and I have had this conversation and it is not fair or equal in any way!
I swear we have had this exact conversation, essentially outlining the hypocrisy of the whole transgender movement, last weekend at dinner in my house! So glad to finally know there are other millennials out there with a brain!! ❤❤❤
"His name was William and he dropped the Willy?" Good one, Austin! Love and hugs from Norway!

Ive worked retail my whole life and I sooo know what zac is talking about. I think the managers are just trying to make themselves look good.
Omg the air filter story!🤣🤣🤣
Same thing happened to me, Austin!

For years I worked at Montgomery Wards. And while shopping in a different store is get asked for help there
Not using indicators, driving far too slow and tractors or hgv on the carriageway during rush hour are the people who grind my gears.

We had a girl on our wrestling squad from 7th grade on. the girls were welcome for any tryouts but never made any other teams.
My husband is a trusted mechanic. He is seriously the expert EVERYONE calls him. I’d recommend him if we lived in Utah.
Good to know there are still trustworthy mechanics out there!

Or when you're stuck behind folk that drive slow when its 70s and when they're in rural areas of like 30mph and they start speeding.
Kailtyn Jenner being “Woman of the Year” grinds my gears!
The funny thing is, even Kaitlyn Jenner has said that transgender females shouldn't be able to compete against other females.
I go by the old saying..."you attract more bees with honey than vinegar" you only hurt yourself when you go full "Karen" By the way Cam, i knew you were just joking during the moon landing episode. i have never felt more called out before...LOL I Do love you guys!!!!
Barricade Family’s. They do get in the way! Lol
Riley Gains speaks to congress, you should oisten to it. Riley had to compete against Thomas and it's not right at all.
WAIT! Did I miss a DNA test reveal episode for all the guys????
I think they filmed it but didn't post it yet?
We weren't thinking and posted this out of order, that podcast will come next!
@@FivesACrowd oh how fun!!!! Cant wait!!!! I’m sure it’s going to be great!!!!!
That's how Meijer in Michigan is like that
I work at Walmart at the service desk. Walmart really isn't that bad of a store. Walmart is no different then a Target, ect. Retail is retail.
Catching a rabbit! I do that all the time. Have to make sure no cops come up behind you.
If you guys are talking about Andrea Thompson as the weight lifter, she’s a woman and sooooooo impressive.
I had a Karen as a manager. It's completely frustrating.
You guys should watch the video of the military males v females there one where a guy dominates a female in all rounds they brawl in.
Our technology was Pong from Atari. LOL
Don’t forget the Disney channel original series……Mr. HeadMistress
I hate people that tailgate. I also hate when people do not use their flipping blinkers. We had someone pass us on the shoulder but he did not see the state patrol up ahead. We had someone in front of us so we could not speed up anyway. So he got pulled over. LOL
WHen is the geneology episode coming out?
Next week! We accidentally mixed up the podcast release schedule. Geneology episode will go up next week!
A better one if someone was late or they were in the airport bar. Can you have them hold the plane for me? No? Don't they know who I am??
Zach I really like you, but keep in mind your children are future drivers, give them a good example to follow!
I agree with the trans gender. But I think teenagers should wait till they are adults to change. And my nieces high school jus spent 5 months arguing about these kids sharing locker rooms and bathrooms.
I do not think that should be allowed
In dutch we say doeg
Yes Cam… Choose to be kind and try not to be offended lol
Its pronounced JEAN-E- OLOGY not JENNY- OLOGY
