Hey, everyone! Thank you so much for watching and giving this new content a chance! I definitely want to do more of these, so please feel free to send your suggestions below! Should I do more playing attempts? Do you want full OST reactions? Let me know! New covers are in the works, so stay tuned!
Ar Tonelico uses a made up language called hymnos, made for the game and meant to only be sung,. It serves as the magic system for the world and each song has specific use, they are simultaneously extremely context dependent, yet also made in way for you to get the general meaning without understanding the lyrics. Exec_Flip_Arphage in particular is a song about trading ones life in order to stop the world from destroying itself, it starts as a dialogue between the singer and the "program" she is trying to execute but the character singing the song remembers her true identity around halfway trough the song and that is when the song goes into overdrive, with her original melody (the japanese) being overtaken by the Hymnos. Ar Tonelico is filled with other cool songs, but most of them are just as unique and baffling(in a good way) as this one.
@@qaztim11 Wow, that is so incredible! To have the creativity to design something like this, let alone all the other songs in the OST... What an amazing feat! Thank you so much for the explanation!
I recalled the violin part being earlier in Arphage, so my apologies on that. But thank you for reacting to a song from the series. It's very dear to my heart and was the topic of my thesis. This one particularly does use Japanese, Hymmnos, and Ar Ciela (the latter two being two of several languages constructed for the game's setting).
@@keetgull That is SO cool that you did your thesis on the game!! I actually did an undergrad paper on One Winged Angel so nerds unite hahaha 🤓 I totally did not mind listening to the track even with the violin being towards the end, what a phenomenal piece! 🎶 Thank you again for the suggestion! It's always a treat to discover new music like this~
You have good taste with liking Crisis City. I'm a huge Sonic fan! Another amazing track for violin would be Rooftop Run. I'm partial to the Sonic Generations version but both the original and acts 1 and 2 are beautiful 😁
a really fun video to watch! it is a pleasure to see you react and play these songs even if you fail, I look forward to seeing more videos like this and I'm going to start looking through my vgm I listen to for violin solos you would find interesting!
That Ar Tonelico track is WILD. Kind of like a hybrid of Karl Jenkins, Enya, and classical choral hymns. Great idea for a video, too - a really innovative twist on 'musician reacts', which is a cool genre already!
Now that I think of it, the Ar Tonelico track totally gives me the same vibes as this track I found like decades ago: th-cam.com/video/xJh6IZEztFU/w-d-xo.htmlsi=yMmnMpsenhbIsGgx I'm so glad you enjoyed the video! More coming soon, got some great suggestions added to the playlist already! And of course, covers are also being worked on too 🎶
Ahhhh nice, you actually did a little bit of Crisis City Act 2! Fantastic stuff 😄🙌 If you do decide to cover that full song some day in the future, I'd actually love to collab with you for it if you'd like, and it could be like a really cool half-cover-half-remix!
The Kronos Island themes from Sonic Frontiers have some very good violin/string sections, more slow and beautiful vs fast and epic though. Worth checking them out if you wanna see how versatile sonic music is!
That fourth track is gorgeous! This was a great idea for a video. Sorry my Layton track gave you a hard time haha! There’s so much good stuff in those soundtracks though!
Thank you so much for the suggestion! I had no idea Layton music was like this, it really makes me want to listen to the other tracks! I swear I could play it better if I had the violin part only instead of the full score haha, might've even ended up as a sort of pass!
Thank you!! I tried my best haha. I think for the next one, I'll spend a bit more time finding or making sheet music so I can do better playing attempts! Those full scores really make it hard to sight-read the melody...
@@TeraCMusic The track named "Last Battle" from the first Xenosaga game. I've loved that final boss theme ever since I first heard it and it's got some awesome violin parts, including a solo line or two. It doesn't sound all that difficult to play, so I don't know if you can turn it into a proper TH-cam "challenge" but it's an absolutely great track regardless.
Another one from Sonic Generations with violin is Gallery: th-cam.com/video/hmcYmrxSNb0/w-d-xo.html That was originally used in Sonic 3 but at a faster pace and there are some really awesome covers (non-violin) out there such as: TEE LOPES: th-cam.com/video/VU2BImK9v9w/w-d-xo.html SAM GRIFFIN: th-cam.com/video/ybOGHSqJSo4/w-d-xo.html Exec_flip - I never heard of that game or song but I think people who are into it would also like A Song for Bygone Days (Fire Emblem Echoes): th-cam.com/video/iLThCBe9RQM/w-d-xo.html No violin in this one but it does have a pretty sounding female chorus with a fantasy ~ new age sound.
Oh that's a good one! I have listened to that one before (was contemplating on covering it for my Chrono Cross album), but would be cool to listen again and try to play!
@@TeraCMusic Ah whoops, my bad for not checking out your old videos first. I liked it, you totally nailed the song. Using your voice to sing out the flute part was a cool idea too.

Reactions to full OSTs could be fun. Maybe make a tier list at the same time. I know just the game to start with ;)
Hehehe of course you do~ I did film some Xenoblade stuff already but that was before I optimized my setup so we will see what I can salvage!

This video was awesome. I am voting for "Battle Themes" as second Episode 😇😂

fun video. I haven’t heard these before

Yes!! I love that it's letting me listen to tracks I've never heard of before in the videogame scene, and it's fun to attempt the melody!
