- Loading a deer or hog or other game by yourself, when you can't pick them up by yourself and when you need help you can always have your "Buddy in a Bag" Fits in a small bag and goes with you anywhere.

I’d field dress before attempting; probably much easier
Never understood not field dressing right away, starts a bacteria factory, that's why some people don't like venison.
Field dressing would reduce weight by 30+lbs. Really easy to drag it over the seat and then slide back onto the rack. I've done that with dozens of elk.
"Never understood not field dressing right away".. I never saw that until I moved to the SE USA. Just have a look at the Georgia DNR page... People with ungutted deer in the back of trucks... IN SOUTH GEORGIA!!! WHen it's 80+ degrees. The deer processors even list "Deer Gut Fee" on their price lists!! Worse than that is they list a "Bear Gut Fee"!! Can you imagine not gutting a bear on the spot?
they dont gut them in the south, they weigh it full, and think that is the right weight..
Just drag with the 4 wheeler you been back by now
And your deer will be tenderized as well

Use your winch to lift the deer up using a tree branch then lower it onto your wheeler!!!
No tree branches in the south, pines dominate the landscape unless you are lucky and wealthy enough to to have access to hardwood bottoms

I have a Polaris 6 wheeler with a a tip
bed. Back it up, winch it into the bed, home James!
Just drag it back to camp with the wheeler !

Good video. I don't necessarily like to field dress right where I hunt. I've always thought it contaminates the area with the smell. I use an atv and primarily meat hunt as opposed to trophy hunt. I simply back the atv up, wrap a rope around the deer's neck and away we go. On those rare occasions that it's a big boy and I'm thinking about caping, I bring the trailer in and load the animal up on the trailer.
I've got one. Had it several years. They work great!
My dad is 89 years old...you want to see him load a 1000# moose (in quarters of course) by himself onto a quad
I'm sure with that many years,. He is a wise man . And bet he can make it look alot easier than this man with his deer. Cherish the time you have with him
I usually disconnect my trailer and haul it behind atv. Drag deer up on that. And go back to truck. Reconnect. Load atv. Aluminum atv trailer . My 12 yo can move it around. ... way easier than all this.. can also load by pulling up fender from front vs working hard against the rack. Have 2 blown discs from doing stuff “hard” ways before and won’t chance it now. I hurt all day EVERY day for those mistakes. If I have to drag it for a little way, so be it. Not worth hurting yourself. Wish I had learned that when I was younger...

Look, use power of ATV To load deer!
First, deer positioned on side of ATV with head forward of front tire. Second, secure rope to both hind legs. Third, position rope up front of curved back fender and over back of ATV rack. Forth, secure rope to tree, creating at least a 45 degree angle to back of ATV.
Fifth, simply drive ATV slowly forward, allowing deer to slide up fender. By Turing ATV toward tree anchor, deer will turn onto ATV RACK. Some coaxing may be needed to acquire proper loading angle.
We just add a basket on the hitch of the rear of the ATV. Plop him in about 12 inches or less above the ground and away you go. You kindof have to go easy on your way back to the cabin with ground clearance as an issue sometimes but not too bad unless the terrain is super nasty.

Thanks. Can't do that lifting thing anymore. Many surgeries. Lost a lot of my strength. I just ordered the Viking E L Vator. Been by myself on two successful hunts this past season.
I'd like to see that done with the 200 plus pound field dressed deer we have around my way.
I was thinking the same. The deer we have wouldn't fit on the wheeler.

Whitetail. Just shot a 7 pointer, 177 pound, field dressed. 11-19-2021. They get a lot bigger than that. State record is 289.8lbs

Hey, Don't run over your gun!! Seriously, as a senior who basically hunts alone I like this video and can appreciate the simplicity and effectiveness. Yes I was young and strong, actually a beast, but when we become seniors or strength ev naturally fade. Fact: seniors require THREE times the effort to maintain muscle or develop muscles.

Yeah field dressing would help greatly
Step 1: field dress deer
Step 2: back atv up to it
Step 3: using your strong arm reach up inside body cavity towards head. Put other arm around back side of head, cradling it.
Step 4: flip its rear up onto rear atv rack, then place its upper half onto the rack.
This works because you are controlling the heaviest end of the deer with your arm strength. Lift with your legs and swing the deer rear up and on the atv.
Two sticks and paracord tie legs to sticks lift set on ATV your done
Step 5: Run over your gun.
I think its a great idea, and boys if you make it past 60yrs old you won't talk smack

You d be surprised to find out how rarely feild dressing is done down south, we're more inclined to field dress rabbits than deer. Always figured it's because most people are hunting within a mile from camphouse with a skinning rack.

Hey man get you a snow skid to just tie to you're Four Wheeler and you can put him on that and drag him without his skin and meat being tore up from the ground be little easier then picking him up just gotta lay him on that platform and make sure the roads not bumpy 😂

My grandpa made a trailer for hauling deer (and whatever else) sorta low to the ground to get the deer on it easier than putting it on thr back of the 4 wheeler
Much easier way than this! Step 1. Start with a real four wheeler not a artic cat!
Step 2. Park beside the deer!
Step 3. Grab the deer and pull it up the fender towards the back rack!
Easy and simple no need to mess with all those straps.
Have you had any issues damaging fenders that way? I'm researching different loading methods and haven't tried that one yet.
Chase Dear no issues at all. I’ve been doing it that way with my 06 model since new and the plastics are still in great shape.
Artic Cats are good machines, thats why they use them in Cabada and Alaska with their Snow Cats and Snow Machines. I've had a pair of them now for 21 years and still running fine.

I have seen someone pull a big buck up through the footwear and over the fender. Looks much easier than what you did here
I’ve been hunting alone my entire life 38 years and that’s how I do every time ! 150lbs are less easy , but 200-260lb deer I struggle using the method but there’s no other way easier , I’m only 5ft 9” 170lb soaking wet
Throw the winch cable over a branch connect to the deer back under the deer the deer will lift up on the rack
Well start by field dressing it and that’ll save you a lot of work then if you’re young just toss the deer over your shoulders and fireman’s carry it out of the woods. If you don’t want to do it that way they make sleds and dollys for this. I personally just don’t use a 4 wheeler because you scare off deer when driving in with it.

You guys all make this complicated. You find a good branch, toss the rope over. Tie one end to deer, other to vehicle. Drive around tree until deer is pulled up over where you need, untie rope and lower. Or beast mode that deer up on that and break your back.

Field dress it first, sit there 30 or so mins watching tik tok or something to kill time so it stiffened up, then boom load it. They're easy to load minus guts and after they get stiff(that's what she said)
It's a deer , pick it up and put it on there, I've seen elk quarters bigger than that deer.

Step three: set down on four wheeler rack
Step four: drive away
