Back in the 60's my dad used a regular wood match to light the pilot. But he had to wrap a piece of wire around it to get it to reach inside. Always took two matches, and he always cussed-up a storm.

Steve I see you keep your truck stocked up very well I keep my truck stocked up as well Steve I buy a lot of parts online and from different vendors because it really don't matter now where you get your parts they're junk anyway you and Miss Molly take care
Why did the gas valve go bad? My pilot goes out when I turn on one of my thermostats. But the finished basement zone thermostat works fine but soon as I turn on upstairs thermostat it shuts the system down. Basement was flooded during the beginning of summer and just tried to turn it on. I clean everything out as well in the boiler. Any suggestions?
Hello, I have that same valve and as i was connecting the new thermocouple to the gas valve at the bottom I notice it had some play. Can that piece br removed or replaced? Thank you.
Hey Steve love the video. I had a question for you. How do you keep track of the inventory in your truck? I see that you have a lot of the parts inside your truck. How do you know when you’re low on one thing? Just curious
Why can't I find a guy like you to work on my furnace? I've got a pilot light that frequently goes out and after replacing the thermocouple a few times and checking to make sure the flame is covering good I decided it was the valve. Paid a heating company $100 only to tell me the XS211Y valve is obsolete and I'll have to replace a perfectly fine furnace. Frustrating as heck
Love how your dad used to check for gas leaks with a match! Old School!!
Thanks Steven, another old school change out.

Is that extension u use to check gas psi something I can buy?
Where do wires go to? I'm assuming front rollout switch and B1 on Aquastat.

I noticed that too. Set us back a few years. I wonder if something happened with the upload or the recording on the camera.
Water and gas pipes are different.

Gas boilers are the wrong line of work for those who lost their sense of smell.

Hey steve are you still doing combustion analysis?
Will a bad combination gas valve prevent a digital thermostat from operating the screen is blank on my digital thermostat
change the batterys on tstat
Using a lighter to check for leaks is like using your fingers to see if wires are live.
My father n law did the same way
Steve, can I get contact info where you get service tags from? I like the way yours are laid out but cannot find
i had them custom made at a print shop
