This boat keeps getting more and more interesting every time I see it/hear about it. The cabin is in incredible shape and not what I was expecting at all from online photos of it. Smart design (must be custom), the nicest little cast iron woodstove I've seen... also very nice to have the enclosed head instead of a portapotty under your pillows. Really didn't expect the massive fridge; that'll be fun to pull out! Look forward to following the updates.
@@PyeGuySailing that made me laugh. If you want to win that argument, see math below... O1 = Old boat total p/l I1 = Old boat incidentals (mooring/storage annually) N1 = New boat total cost (allowing for same spend as O1) I2 = New boat incidentals (mooring/storage annually) O1=30,000 I1=6000n (annually recurring) N1=
I just got mine as well, right now I'm rewiring her. She's in my top 3 dream boats and they're rare in Canada so I'm very lucky to have found her. Fingers crossed for you on getting one! 😁
@@PyeGuySailing I realized, after your 2nd video, that I had just read your post on the FB Westerly Owners group. Hope you document the work you do on the boat. The Westerlys are almost non-existent here in the States too. This is only the 3rd one I've found. I've wanted a bilge keel boat ever since I read about them. J
@jt659 I know of 4 here in Canada ( there's probably more..but that's all I can account for). I will be making videos of the repairs and sailing (eventually 😉) let me know if you get one 😁
@@PyeGuySailing Still debating the purchase. Asking price is $4200 and that seems a little high depending on whether or not she's ready to sail or needs work. The eventual goal would be to convert to a junk rig and sail in the Keys and farther. The first decade or so would be on lakes around here.
@@jt659 there one In Sudbury ontario for sale for 5k canadian with a trailer, mine cost a lot less then that. I've seen them go for as much as 10k in the U.S.A but that's in mint condition. All depends on the condition and if it has a trailer. But it will get you where you want to go safely and in style

@@CaptainSteveZissou Ya it'll be a nice place to live when your Aunt kicks me out for spending a fortune on it 😉🤪

Awesome boat! Looking forward to seeing how the work goes!
Thx Buddy, I'll definitely bore you with the details 🤪😁
@@PyeGuySailing what engine does yours have. Mine came with a MD1 which was seized. Am waiting on the delivery of a Yanmar 1GM10
It was a Renault RC8D. A French made 1 cylinder diesel. Really difficult to find parts for
I was considering putting a yanmar in, great motor
She looks good
I recently got a nomad
Would love to share info
Absolutely, I just got mine as well
Thanks for this. I have a chance to get one of these in the next week. I appreciate any videos of the Nomad.
