Ferrari 488 GTE 2016 & GTE Evo 2018 testing at Monza Circuit!

- Yet another car of which I have collected much material in these years but I never uploaded a fully dedicated video. The 488 GTE is Ferrari's race cars for the GTE class which is used in WEC, ELMS and IMSA SportsCar Championship where the class is called GTLM. It was unveiled in 2016 together with its fraternal twin for the GT3 class (customers can simply convert their 488 GT3s into GTE-specs with a separate, yet expensive kit, that's why they look so similar).
In 2018 both the GT3 and the GTE received some upgrades through an 'Evo kit' mainly focused on aero and body design, changes that are easily visible when compared to the old 2016 cars without the kit. If you want to get in-depth and discover all the aesthetic details that differentiate all the 488 race cars (488 GT3 2016, 488 GTE 2016, 488 GT3 Evo 2018 and 488 GTE Evo 2018) I'd suggest you to check this blog post that I made using my pictures to indicate them all: www.themarbles....
If you're a bit lazy, I give you a simple yet (almost) infallible method I learned by dint of seeing them: the 488 GTEs (both Evos and 2016 specs) ofter produce very loud and sharp bangs while upshifting, instead the GT3s always have the same, changeless deep sound. I honestly get scared quite often since they're not making those backfires everytime. Some examples are at 0:24, 1:04, 3:44, 4:40, 7:37, 8:31
Watch them in action around Monza Circuit during some test days from 2017, 2018 and 2019!
N.B. At 5:41, the two green 488 are GT3 cars.

I will miss the previous NA 4.5L V8 scream, but I didn't complaint about this. Kinda reminds me of F40 LM sound, but the 488 got deeper growl. Anyway, thank you Bozzy for the high quality video.

Christ Bozzy about time you do one for this car. 488 has always been my favorite sounding GTE. It's so low and silent, yet kinda has this deep roar to it almost, like a stealthy predator closing in on its prey.

@@neilbv11 Ah, got it! Sorry but at first I thought there were some issues with my already uploaded 3D audio videos.. I stopped because I both ran out of previously recorded material (I should still have one more left from a test day in 2019) and due to the current situation with the Covid-19. I'm substantially stuck at home since the end of February both because of March and April's lockdown and now because all the events, race weekends and similar stuffs have been postponed or canceled so I can't record new videos. Test days and track days are starting again here in Italy since the end of May but at the moment most of the race tracks and venues don't allow public/photographers to get inside...
I hope I'll be able to do something in July/August but I'm not very optimistic. Anyway, don't worry: as soon as I can attend an event, I'll start again doing binaural recordings ;)
