Very interesting dear Watson, very interesting. Cheers.
Thank you Holmes
Cracking wee project there Mr T. You were definitely thinking out of the box (no pun intended) when you made it. The Riley is looking pretty smart for her age and the longer you can keep her original the better. All the best to you, Mrs T, Jenkins and yer dog. Happy motoring. 🚙🌞😎😎
Thank you Ricki for your kind words and regards have been passed on to Mrs T and the hound.
I always enjoy a Riley update! (Even though you've completely ruined it with your digital hooliganism.) You are a wise man... because of the defects in the bodywork, some people would be tempted to say, "You need to completely strip it down and restore it from end to end". But you and I both know that is how a car is doomed to never see the road again, and eventually leads to an advert that says "Best offer... My husband never got around to finishing it" Cheers from a shed... across the pond... in Iowa...USA... two doors down... on the left.
@shed did you mean best offer for my husband hmmm... 🤔😂
@@jorobinson2729😆😆 Better keep what you got... they aren't making the new models any better.
Most enjoyable. Interestingly I was shown a marvellous old fashioned way of creating a loop for wiring onto a post. Strip your wire back say 3/4", twist strands together then fold over by half. Insert a suitably sized screwdriver or nail and then rotate several times. This will give you hoop to attach to your electrical post.😊
Glad to hear it Matthew and handy tips gratefully received
Very nice work on the electricals. Bodywork - the reason I never got interested in cars.Takes real skill to deal with that.
Rust it is the most soul destroying part of old car ownership.......well I thought it was until I got into vintage cars and discovered crumbling leather, woodworm and wet rot!!!!!
Oh the joys and tribulations of Riley bodywork; take your time now and enjoy some summer motoring Mr T. Bet your dog will love an outing and Mrs T of course. Naturally I find moving out the vehicle means the shed has to have further tidying. Thank you for posting. Best wishes from the very wet New Forest.
The tidying never seems to end Mr B......I´m not sure who makes it messy......I´m blaming Jenkins
Back of the net sir! Great video as always.
Thanks George 👍
Really nice install on the high tech gadgets, you won't have to look to far for something to keep you busy. 😉
Very true Glen but we do enjoy the tinkering.......even if we moan about it
I was shouting Tiger Seal before Ivan made his cameo appearances. Great progress and the little fuse box looks very much in keeping.
Best wishes, Dean.
its good stuff......a new go too solution in the workshop
Thanks.
Tweedy
I had just watched the latest Shed Racing edition then all of a sudden Ivan popped up uttering "Tiger seal". I thought my phone had become possessed.
Excellent update on the Riley Mr Tweed.
Thanks Fintoman, you may want to get your phone exorcised ..
Nice to see you out on the road enjoying the Riley Mr Tweed..
Thanks Chris, need to get further afield
I had a friend years ago that had a 1935 Riley Falcon and also a 1967 Pathfinder, I helped him with repairs on both.
A nice stable of Rileys to have, a chap at the show had jad a Pathfinder and we were chatting about the advertisements for them where the illustrator stretched the bodyshape out. Still a good looking car though
@@TweedsGarage I went to move it and had to ask where the gear stick was.
I love the modifications - makes it easier to live with and less chance of a speeding ticket. As a Riley owner, I approve.
I ask a favour - can you give us the details of the welding you had done on the block please? I have a similar problem.
Keep up the good work, you're inspiring many people to keep going. Best wishes, Doug.
Hi Doug, glad you like the modifications, it worked really well on his run out on Sunday. The company you are looking for is EMP tooling in Havant, Hampshire. You can see the results in this video ( if you haven’t already seen it 😁)

Nice one Mr Tweed; did Jenkins put you up to this? Watch out, next it'll be a reversing camera and ICE to keep him amused.
The film of it driving along the lanes was my favourite part. More please.
Thanks for the video.
Well he does go on a bit but I've told him there's no room under the dashboard for a gramophone player
Thanks for the latest installment, great content.
My pleasure!
Wing refresh looks fine , back light rubber boots will make a good water/ mud storage system.
Cheers Clive, its not the best location but some carefully placed Tigerseal should stop water ingress plus a few mods ( to be seen in a future video )
@@TweedsGarage they always get full of water , best thing to have, a big hole at the bottom to let the water out .
Mr Tweed. I think you have ravelled Gladstone's real identity. It's not just a old car but a time traveling intergalactic machine.
which would explain the various different discusses we have seen you in. Should we now just call you Dr Tweed.
Shhhhh....keep it under your hat Russell ;-)

Another great vid, regards to Alan and Ryan(HBMC) 👍when you see them
Thanks and will do
I just watched Ivan’s latest before watching yours I’m pleased to see you follow him as well. Two fine men.
Kind words, thanks Steve
Mr Tweed I enjoy your TH-cams v much, and, I am intending to find myself a Riley of some sort. I am, I think, located not too far from you (on the Surrey Hampshire border) and I wonder if you have access to a schedule of local car shows that I might attend. There have been shows within a reasonable distance from me that I have missed due to not hearing about them until after they are over. Thanks v much and best regards.
They have a classic car meet on the first Sunday of every month throughout the summer starting this Sunday in Alton at the Departure lounge www.thedepartureloungecafe.co.uk/classic-car-sunday/
And the Basingstoke Transport festival in may to name a couple

Cheers, the show is in Amazingstoke on the 19th May

@@TweedsGarage jolly good, I'll see if I can't pop down and kick the tyres on the Riley .. (but not the wings... I'll keep clear if the wings )
Once I’d purchased my 34’ Riley, I was warned by a friend, about the haphazard manner in which the various parts of the bodywork were assembled in the factory. I find bits of roughly painted ply, funny little brackets made from tin, similarly painted, and all manner of other stuff which must be original, because any dedicated owner would have produced a better job!
No one at Riley would have gone to the trouble to produce a little work of art, such as your switch box…..
I haven't found anything too slapped together ( apart from later repairs ) maybe as they became more popular they had trouble keeping up with demand.....but I do have to delve into the door internals to make new window latching mechanisms so may find some treasures yet.
Is your car 12 v positive ground , if so how did you connect the usb port?
No it is negative earth ( probably converted sometime in its 95 year life ) but it wouldn't be an issue as the circuit board is contained within an insulated box and would be fine for powering phones, satnavs, dash cams etc
4mm screws. 4mm! How can you sleep at night man! My very hacked up original Riley guards also have an interesting folded/crimped joint on them where the top meets the side of the guards. I don't think I will try replicating that by hand but I will match the profile when I make the guards on mine. Hot melt glue works great for sticking down electronic gubbins. Then you can use isopropyl alcohol sprayed on it to get it to unstick later.
Ah being an electrical item it would have been BA, but as Gladstone has a Zenith carb which is all metric i think it will sneak under the radar.....nice to see you've bought a stationary engine for your retirement, i hope your good lady is as enthralled with the idea of sitting in a field with a flask next to a noisy engine to pass the time as Mrs Tweed is when i threaten to buy one 😀
That wasn't just any old beak that was "The Bull"......
Well spotted......you wouldn't get away with " it's a 95 year old speedometer m'Lord"
