Taking math final tomorrow worth a fat 20% of my overall grade in his class. on the study guide he had a question like this and I was tripped up because he was explaining it in a manner where it was confusing. he was incorporating fractions, and variables that wre uneccesary but overall great video it helped me understand this and I bet it helped even more. also this was published 6 years ago and now we have figet spinners for kids with autism which everyone has

Really great but I think it would be useful to show like the other way around, like if f(x) = something rather than f(something) = (equation). That's the best way I can explain what I am trying to figure out.

What if it asks you to find the value of (x)

the value of x is what you put in.
f(x) = 3 * x
if x is 2 the result will be 6.
if x is 4 the result will be 12.
the function is using x as a standin for the number you wanna use the fucntion on.

no its right because -40 + 2 is = to -38 or you can put it this way to be simpler 2-40 is equals to -38
