    A personal and humble review without that dreadful number game. Like it! You will love the SL2-S video footage. L-Log delivers lovely colours. But be reminded that the camera's colour space in L-Log is Rec 2020. When working with L-Log files, you must keep that in mind; otherwise, your colours will be off. In Resolve, you can switch the Colour Management settings from the legacy DaVinci YRGB mode to DaVinci YRGB colour-managed mode and select ReC 2020 for input.

      Thank you! I’ve been really enjoying the video footage, I will definitely need to try it in that color space though!

    Try to remove “just” (a quick video)from your script. It minimizes the video. This was a great video and your photography examples were beautiful . This is the exact video I was looking for to try and do something other than Sony and Canon with my imagery investment.

    How would you compare this camera to the original SL? SL is half the price, and I am thinking if I should get sl2s for 3 grand or get sl for 1500, and use the money to get more glass....

    Hey love the content ! Quick question so I filmed so slow motion footage and it said it’s log footage but once in davicni resolve it doesn’t look like log footage? I can’t make it match the color grading of 24fps footage somehow. All the colors are already there, you don’t have the greyish look. Any idea on how to fix that ? Many thanks

    Definitely don’t see a lot of Leicas around Michigan. I’ve always enjoyed them and using a TL2 (have some other cameras from Pentax, Fuji, etc tc). The other cameras I’m fortunate to own are technically better in many ways compared to my TL2, but there’s just something about the Leica that makes me pick it up for anything else in the collection. It just feels great in the hands, there isn’t 1000 options and submenus to deal with, etc. It just gets to the point of photography…to take pictures. I agree with you completely on the way the photos look. There’s something special about the way Leicas render. They don’t have a fake ultra sharp look to them…they are CLEAR but have a certain ‘softness’ or reality to the pictures. You’ll know exactly what I’m trying to say.
    Congrats on your cameras and equipment man! One day I hope to get an m10 or sl2s

    • @lukasvanderlende
      @lukasvanderlende  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Absolutely! There’s something to say about having high quality images and glass, coupled with a superior shooting experience. These are the first cameras I feel like the camera isnt fighting against me when I’m out haha I know exactly what you mean about the image quality!

    Hello, great video! Just wondered if you struggled deciding between the SL2 & SL2-S? I don't do videos but wonder if 47 mpx is not too much for everyday photography etc. I know there is the pixel shift option too though ... You can find now more or less 500€ an SL2 vs an SL2-S used in Europe (3850 € vs 3500 €).

    • @lukasvanderlende
      @lukasvanderlende  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, thank you! I knew I wanted both eventually and knew that for me personally the video side of things was equally important. I have the SL2 as well now and definitely gravitate towards that for photography! I would say if you are ok with the lower megapixel sensor to go with the S unless you want to be able to print your work large!

      @@lukasvanderlende please, share your thoughts on the size/form factor comparison. I am on the brink of a switch from M10 to SL2-S, since I am not a pro and simply can’t and don’t want to keep them both…can the SL2-S be used as a EDC camera with M-lenses?

    • @lukasvanderlende
      @lukasvanderlende  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@kubowich there’s a lot to that, personally I got the M10 because I wanted it as my EDC. I was using a fujifilm x100v and didn’t pick it up over my M6 so I sold the x100v to help fund the M10. I love using the SL2S with the M lenses but I prefer a rangefinder for my EDC. I’m on a screen all day and when I’m spending time with family I would rather look through the rangefinder than a EVF. I carry my SL2S with me everyday as well but that’s my content machine, I guess I would ask why do you want to make the switch? It’s pretty personal, if you want an EVF and video then the SL2S is totally the way. I could (and will) make a whole video about this because there was a lot leading up to why I picked up a M10 aside from just always wanting one haha

    Do you think Leica SL and also Hasselblad X2D's experience is nothing special and just like any DSLR / Mirrorless where they do most things automatically for you and the real fun experience camera is Leica M? They are just a get the job done camera abd is about the result only, if want a fun camera better get Leica M if you not doing photography as your career?

    • @lukasvanderlende
      @lukasvanderlende  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think that the experience with the Leica SL is special, when it comes to having just 8 buttons and 5 of them are customizable compared to the competition that is covered in buttons. There’s something about using a well designed tool that gets out of the way and let’s you create that is very satisfying and a unique experience. As a professional these are just tools at the end of the day but the SL is a great tool that I’m excited to use! Not sure about the X2D as I haven’t used one but hope to get to try one out someday!
