From the Government's website "The first duty of the government is to keep citizens safe and the country secure"
It can't even do this, they are letting 1,000s of random unknown men into the country every month, that are then free wonder around the country as they like.
When they can't even get the most fundamental basic part of running a country right, what hope do they have of knowing how to run an economy.

It's comparable to shithole countries governments like Sri Lanka, Brazil, Venezuela, South Africa, Zimbabwe, etc. The level of corruption, lying MPs, crumbling services and roads are similar. In fact I would wager that there are far less potholes and better healthcare in the countries that I just mentioned than the UK.

I do a key job in construction which is identified as being a skill shortage. A year ago I got fed up with how much i was paying in tax. So instead I started up my own company from which I work for various employers on a contract basis. This is far more tax efficient and means I can earn more money (due to less tax) for less work. I only work around 4 days per week. The irony is that there is more than enough work for me to do and I could actually work 5 days a week however the tax penalty of increasing output (growth) is so high that it's not worth me doing it.

I feel like you can't win with these corporations. they increased prices well above inflation before these new taxes and reduced staff and pay citing they had small profit margins which was untrue for some corporations; now after the taxes they do the exact same thing but now have a genuine excuse to do it unlike before.

The increase in Employers NIC is a tax on business and employment which will cause jobs to be lost. Ironically by contrast the average wage worker in the U.K. is actually only paying a marginal tax rate of 28% on their earnings ( basic rate tax 20% and employee NIC 8% This is quite low by past UK historical standards where for example tax rates on average earnings were 34% when Mrs Thatcher left office. The harsh truth for the British politicians and for British people is that governments will either have to drastically cut public spending or ordinary British people will have to pay more in tax and VAT. Simply dumping the burden on business or the very rich will just encourage them to leave the U.K. Of course that may mean breaking one of the tax taboos of the past 40 years which is that basic rate income tax on wages and pensions will only ever go down.

They could stop paying internal interest as no other country does that. They stop Net Zero and the duties of that. Cut corp tax (or ladder it to company size). Sort out the boat immigrants cost. Strip out waste in the NHS. There's loads of things they can do but they aren't going to because we aren't a serious country.

But by increasing the minimum wage by up to 18%, those workers on higher wages will see the gap between their reward and those who are on minimum wage narrowing. They will be justified in expecting a wage increase too to maintain their wage differential. Now add in increasing NI costs to the employer and it just doesn’t bear thinking about. The cost of living needs to decrease, lead by more housing, reducing energy costs and increasing the income level at which tax is due. The government needs to reduce its spending by finding major cuts across all divisions and stopping unnecessary ‘glory projects’ like HS2! We’re in a big mess with incompetent leaders looking at solutions.
