  • Antinuclear antibodies (ANA) constitute a group of autoantibodies produced by the immune system, targeting multiple cellular components within the cell nuclei, mitotic spindle apparatus, and cytoplasm. The presence of ANA can serve as an indicator for autoimmune rheumatic conditions, including systemic lupus erythematosus, rheumatoid arthritis, and Sjögren's syndrome, among others. Detecting ANA in the blood aids in the classification of autoimmune rheumatic diseases, alongside clinical symptoms, and can be accomplished through various immunoassays. In this webinar, Dr. Anne Tebo will discuss the clinical indications for ANA testing, methods of testing and reporting, and identify challenges in the evaluation of ANA.
