Betty, Try using tulip red or no taste red-red. I personally like tulip red and no taste red because neither one of them have that awful taste associated with red food coloring. Add a drop at a time to your Royal icing until you achieve the shade of red you want. Then add navy or brown a drop at a time (use a tooth pick to add color) ) to deepen the red. I prefer navy over brown unless I am trying to achieve Santa Red. Let it sit out over night to deepen. Red develops over time, so I always make it the day before I plan on using it.
Hi Betty. The gel colour deepens over time so if I'm using reds, blacks or chocolate browns, I'll prepare my icings the night before I decorate. I end up with rich colours and use less food dye in the process. Pretty colours and tasty icing.
WOW that is really red - love it. What's the name of color you used? Typically they say red has an awful taste, just wondering. But I love the decorating!
Thank you! I used Americolor super red. The colour deepens over time so if I'm using reds, blacks or chocolate browns, I'll prepare my icings the night before I decorate. I end up with rich colours and use less food dye in the process.
Lovely cookie! If you haven't already, I suggest removing the auto focus and just focus on the cookie so it is always in focus. It is a little hard to watch when it blurs in and out so much,
@@valerielindsley4181 instead of giving very stupid 'advice' you may want to mind your own business. Perhaps you have noticed, some videos come with spoken text that some of us would like to hear. Some have both music and text. To mute the music doesn't help matters here. The consequece is, not watching videos from this vloger at all. I don't think that's what she wants. If you can't cope with feedback - don't put up videos. Easy as that. This musical 'background' doesn't do the video any good, it's annoying.
Thanks for your feedback. I'm a decorator first and videographer/photographer/editor a far second. I love what I do and I'm just trying to share my work, it's a learning curve for me. Your criticism is noted.

Beautiful. How long it took you to decorate just one cookie?
Thank you! About 6 and a half minutes not including the time for the base icing to dry (that adds some hours) :)
Beautiful work, lovely cookie. How do you get that deep red. ? Gorgeous!

I'd have rather no music, it's really getting on my nerves.
Lisa Disch instead of complaining just turn the volume down. Problem solved.
