I am a bilateral below knee amputee from Wales, UK. This fella is inspirational. His story and rehab has so many similarities to my experience. Well done and keep going-brilliant
A family friend was an amputee and I grew up with it, he’d always put his leg up upside down and use it like a table. I don’t remember much about him but I’ll never forget how he let his jean leg just flop when he didn’t have it on.
he is amazing man my heart just came out of my chest when I herd about his very bad injury’s when he was working I’m really glad that his wife is supporting him through this that he had bad time in his life i nearly cry at the end when he walking for the first time after his bad injury at work
I am an able bodied person (not counting a lower back fusion) with bipolar. I started watching this channel and have been blown away by all these strong amazing people. It has made me kick myself in the backside and say "look at what these people are dealing with in their everyday lives and triumphing, get off your backside and stop feeling sorry for yourself. I find myself wondering do we all have this strength inside us or do these things happen to people who can handle it, which I know sounds crazy but wow! I am in awe of the stength and courage I see here. I made a decision that I couldn’t live in this antipsychotic drug induced fog any longer so two months ago with support from my psychiatrist I have come off my medication and have chosen a spiritual journey with meditation and daily affirmation and I watch the amazing inspirational people such as Ian Winson and his family on this channel. Thank you! 😀🖒🕉❤
In New Zealand all his care and compensation will be covered by ACC (Accident Compensation Corporation). I don’t know how much he will have received, but hopefully it was a lot and he doesn’t have to worry about working any more.
@@chavale2 because ACC exists, you can’t actually sue for compensation for injury in NZ in most cases. Hopefully he and his family are well cared for and he has everything he needs.
he is such a nice man and a great inspiration for his kids
Thanks for watching Lauren, Ian is a great guy! 😀
My heart just melted when Ian's son crossed the finish line to greet him and when Ian got his longer legs at the end.
Thanks Jaii, hope you enjoyed!

"Dad can I play with your legs like guns?!" that's so cute and it shows that he sees the legs like any other item and not as scary.

Per chance some high-tech legs could be engineered to mitigate the effects of that explosion. Cheers!
Hi Ian Did you get 40 M compo? Please do not be shy; my friend lost his legs and got his compo 12 years ago...Cheers

@@sopyleecrypt6899 He should get a Solicitor to seek compo 40M plus; no one cent less
