EP 2 BTS - Mithila Art at Madhubani Railway station, Bihar | Village visit to explore Paintings

- We visited Jitwarpur village in Madhubani and found that every house has an artisan who practices Madhubani paintings. We visited the houses of artisans and saw the Madhubani paintings and shared their prices in the video.

Hotel in Madhubani - We started our day in the Morning from outside our Hotel Deep Jyoti in Madhubani.
Tariff - Rs 2,500 + Tax for Feb Month.
My stay at this hotel was just ok, after 2 days here we shifted to Jalsha Hotel, which I found to be better.
Madhubani Railway Station - After this, we reached Madhubani Railway Station & met Mr Parikshan Ji brother of Padam Shri Dulari Devi Ji.
We saw so many different kinds of beautiful paintings at the station portraying Nature, animal figures, God & Goddesses & events.
Baua Devi Ji Home - After this, we traveled around 5 km and reached Mrs Baua Devi Ji's Home in Jitwarpur village, Baua Devi Ji got a Padam Shri Award in 2017 for the Mithila Paintings.
We couldn’t meet her at her home but we met her at the Mithila Chitrakala Sansthan which we shot on the Visa2explore TH-cam channel.

We met the daughter-in-law of Baua Devi ji at home, who showed us various paintings with their prices, which we covered in this video.
As mentioned earlier, in other parts of the day we did a detailed shoot about Madhubani Art for the Visa2explore TH-cam channel.
By the end of the day, we reached back Hotel Deep Jyoti at night & ended our day.

Very detailed video you have shown madhubani or mithila art is an old tradition. They are preserving it by giving training to new generation. Madhubani paintings are unique and they have their own importance. They also have madhubani print dress materials which are also beautiful. Kindly visit those shops also so that it will be helpful to us.
So little is known about the history and food of Binar and it people and the beautiful art. So much soft spoken people and their hospitality. Thanks for this wonderful episode,
मधुबनी पेंटिंग हमारे मिथिलांचल की शान है।ये पेंटिंग में जो कलर तैयार किया जाता था पहले के जमाने मे वो फ़ूलों रस से किया जाता था ,जैसे की पीला कलर गेंदा फूल से ,हरा कलर पत्तियो से,काला कलर स्याही से,जैसे की पहले तो भोजन लकड़ी के चूल्हा पर बनता था तो तवे पर रोटी बनती थी तो रोटी बन जाने के बाद तवे के नीचे जो लकड़ी जलने से जो कालिख लग जाती थी उसी कालिख को गीले कपड़ा से पोछ के फिर काला रंग तैयार किया जाता था।सभी मिथिला पेन्टिंग में ज्यादातर मछली, बांस कछुए ,बिच्छू ,कमल का पत्ता ( पुरैनपात)पानी में रहने वाले जीव जंतु और पौधे को दर्शाया जाता है,इसका कारण ये है कि पूरा मिथिलांचल क्षेत्र में बहुत सारे तालाब होते है।इसलिए यहाँ के लोगों को सभी शुभ काम के
भोजन में मछली बनती है।मान्यता है कि बांस वंस बृद्धि की निशानी है। हमारे मिथिलांचल अद्भुत संस्कृति और संस्कार का संगम है।🙏🙏❤❤

I’m a native of Darbhanga and I sincerely thank you and your channel for planning a visit to my city, the heart of Mithila, Darbhanga.
Darbhanga as a place has lots to cover, discuss, and learn, though much has turned into ruins and whatever that remains hasn’t been maintained properly by the state government and thereby no surprise that you could wrap up Darbhanga within minutes in your video. Had this place been given its due importance, it too could have been gone on to find a place of its own in historical places of the country.
I went ecsatic while watching your video and wished if you could have gone on to cover something more, the guides alongside you would have helped you know more about the city, something more about the historic significance and the prominence this city holds in building the independent India. I’m pretty sure that you would be be aware of the presence of the Darbhanga road in Delhi to the Darbhanga ghat in Varanasi to the Darbhanga house in Kolkata. The white house (covered in your video) had air conditioned rooms built on the same concept of forts of North India and the Raj campus which is also known as the Naulakha Palace (built with INR 9 lakh) also had railway lines in its premises. Darbhanga, in its yesteryears was way ahead of its time wrt infrastructure and education but all thanks to the governments that followed post independence, the city lost all its worth and charm. It still somehow tries to hold its guard against the wind, not sure until when.
But thanks again for covering my city in your video. One interesting point, Darbhanga derives its name from Dwar-Bang (Gateway to Bengal) and this is the reason that you’ll find cultural similarities between the cities of Mithila and Bengal.
Hope you could get a taste of the food and the warm hospitality, something that we, Mithilawasis are known for. Wish you could have also gone on to have the paan of Mithila since Mithila is incomplete with Paan, paag (a head wearing attire), makhaan.
While watching your video on Madhubani paintings, you put up a question to Smt. Dulari ji’s brother asking about a painting depicting a marriage. The marriage shown in that painting is of Goddess Sita and Lord Ram. Goddess Sita, being the daughter of Mithila, you’ll find most of the Mithila paintings revolving around their marriage rituals. And another painting was of Sh. Vidyapati ji, one of the greatest and wildly renowned Maithili poet. Vidyapati being a devout of Lord Shiva, impressed him and the God came down to live in his devotee’s house as his servant. Long story short, this Mithila region of Bihar is deeply rooted to the Hindu culture and we truly take immense pride in.

50% bhojpuri boli jati hai brother Champaran se lekar saran chhapra aara aap demography dekho,
Maithli 33% boli jati hai then Magahi , 2 language aur hain jo Bengal Bihar border pe boli jati hai throughout jharkhand tak .
I am from Patna , mujhe bihar ke sare language achche lagte hain mere language Magahi hai.

Fool, Bajjika amd Angika are the dialects of Maithili only, they are Maithili only, different names of tones of Maithili.

After your visit to darbanga and madhubani,I came to know about other side of bihar.otherwise iwould think it is a dry and poor state.thanks for your efforts in bringing art and food of different placesto public.
I loved the lady and her mode of doing things including speaking to her guest, that reminded me how beautiful simplicity and hospitality is in that part of the world. The food was simple and so down to earth...so different from what passes for food these days. I also am curious about the fact of marrying women from Nepal....aren't there enough women in Madhubani and its surroundings....what is the origin of that tradition? Thanks for giving us a glimpse of a land that is often bypassed.

We saw that you had trouble with data copying. So just a suggestion, to use a mixed approach of :
1. Using iCloud for IPhone data copy whenever there is network available
2. normal copying data from camera into laptop
So that your work will become much easier 👍🏻
actually our data for the day on i phone is usually 30 to 35 GB... i cloud upload will be difficult...
