- We visited Jitwarpur and Ranti village to explore the world famous Madhubani paintings. We also met Padma Shri awardees National & state awardees during the tour of Madhubani, Bihar.
There after we proceeded to visit Rajnagar fort, Naulakha palace and then went to visit Ugna Mahadev Temple.

EP 1 - Madhubani - • EP 1 Mithila Chitrakal...
Following are the details of the journey done on this day- 22nd feb - Video shoot date.
Dulari Devi Ji House - We started our day in the morning from the Ranti village of Madhubani here we came to meet the Padam Shri Awardee Mrs Dulari Devi Ji at her home.
We had breakfast at the Dulari Devi Ji home in the morning.She offered us - Dahi Chura with vegetables, which was an enjoyable taste and i learnt that this is a famous breakfast of Mithila region.
After breakfast, we saw the different style paintings collection of Mrs Dulari Devi Ji and she explained to us about the paintings and their prices.
Rekha Devi Ji House - After this, we met one more Artisian of Ranti Village Mrs Rekha Devi Ji & she showed us the Madhubani art on the Saree, Suit and Hadicrafts.
I purchased a align bag with Madhubani painting on top of it.

Mahasundari Devi Ji House - After this, we visited the house of the great Artist of Madhubani Late. Mrs Mahasundari Devi Ji & met there her daughter-in-law who is also a National award winner artist Mrs Bibha Das Ji.
Ms Bibha Das ji showed us paintings made using natural colours, it was a delight to meet her and others in the village and learn about Madhubani art.
Rajnagar Palace - After this we traveled around 15 km and reached Rajnagar, Bihar. Here we met with Shambhavi who guided us to explore this Palace.
Rajnagar Palace is also known as Navlakha Palace & it was built by Rameshwar Singh between 1884 to 1929. This complex covers 1500 acres & it includes 11 temples and different forts.
Lunch near Rajnagar Palace - We had our lunch at the Cafe near the Palace - Street and Straw. We had Noodles, Fried Rice & Manchurian in the lunch.
Indira Devi Ji House - After this, we traveled around 2 km and reached one more Artisan of Madhubani Mrs Indira Devi Ji and here we explored the Madhubani Art on Paper, Saree etc & shared the price in the video.
Ugna Mahadev Temple - After this on the way to Madhubani we visited the Ugna Mahadev Temple, & did the darshan of Lord Shiva.
This is the place where Lord Shiva accompanied "Kavi Vidyapati " as his servant "Ugna" and offered Gangajal to him, the period was 1352-1448.
Hotel in Madhubani - After this we reached our Hotel in Madhubani - Jalsha, Earlier i stayed at Deep Jyoti hotel, that was also good but this Jalsha hotel i found to be little better.

Harish Sir is a gem of a person, he is a true explorer and tries to visit every corner of the place to let the specialty of the place showcase in the episode. I am surprised to watch so many things Bihar offers to the world, the food is unique, and people are soft-hearted and attached to Mother Nature. Madhubani's paintings are truly mind-blowing. Rajnagar Palace's architecture is great.

The village is so famous with madhubani paintings everywhere but seems underdeveloped. Raj nagar palace was nice and pond was huge one. Tarua us typical food of the region. Absence of food outlets nearby shows locales not interested in out food joints or lack of tourism interest 👍
Only politics destroyed the whole culture
Lol, it's a village, not city... By the village standard it's a developed village because everyone have pakka house, good road connectivity and etc.. it's a better than many village in India... Madhubani painting is not famous in India.. it's been promoted after 2016 by the central government... Previously it was ignored by the government... It used to be famous during colonial and late 70s time among the foreigners
Another rich episode.. also the pple are very simple and homely. A series worthy to be archived.

The sad part was the beautiful girl saying the temple bell 🔔 will cause SOUND POLLUTION , well 8 dhatu temple bell should bring Good Vibes but that’s where Bihar has been pushed back.

Their uniqueness is the incidence of mahabharat and ramayan and animals and birds shown in the paintings. Unfortunately they are not getting recognition and rewards the way they should get.

Super informative Video about Madhubani Paintings, Local Art and culture. That Breakfast comprising of Dahi Chura and Eggplant Friiters etc sitting on the Rooftop of their house is a great lifetime experience. So nice Sambhavi ji Took you around a Tour of the Rajnagar Palace explaining and Showing all things in detail. Visit to Indira Devi ji house gave us further insight into this great Art. They hosted you to Tasty Tarua along with cup of Hot Tea. The people over there are so nice and Hospitable. Visit to Ugna Mahadev Temple is indeed once in a lifetime experience. Thanks for letting us know the History of the temple. We are indeed blessed to have taken darshan of this Temple along with the Darshan of Shivling. Harish ji I fully agree with you that Promotion of Local food should also be made in Local Restaurants Otherwise one will have to go to That place which is 35 to 40 kms from Madhubani.
