Sword or Axe: Which is BETTER in Minecraft?

Axes are better for low health enemy's but swords are for high health enemies

It really depends on personal preference, axes take longer to recharge but have higher overall damage, also the double use of not needing to carry around an extra tool, since an axe can also be used as a weapon, but swords have sweeping edge and hit multiple enemies, axes excel in single target while swords excel in multi hit

Ill just prefer getting a stone axe thats the cheapest and the best but if u r playing a survival series snd u can enchant ur stuff just get a enchanted sword it will be better
The difference btween a sword and and a axe is just that the axe does more damage when critical hited but take more time to load and a sword does less damage than a critical hit of a axe but takes way kess time to load so see ur self

If u on Java than axe it does a lot more critical damage? But if bedrock that sword

In jave axe does MORE DAMAGE per hit, but on bedrock you use a sword

personally, axes are better for the first hit and then switch to a sword and then If you have time to back away and then hit again with an axe But you also have to hit crits for axes for some mobs to be instantly killed

I agree because of the way axes can break shields. Although if your opponent is anticipating the axe they can hit with a great counterattack, so I actually prefer sword and a piercing crossbow for the range and benefits of a sword
