Game runs poorly but everyone shouldve expected this. It's early access and this is Wildcard. It will get better over time, like ASE did. This game has incredible potential. So many QoL improvements.

The game looks amazing no stutters no random lag spikes my base renders in from extremely far away.. overall it’s a giant improvement to ase, my advice to others would be to go upgrade your hardware lmao games are only going to get better and if your current setup can’t support it get a console and pray it’s optimized enough for that.
I love how after all these years, there's still very bad hitching in the game. FFS, ratchet and clank on PC loads seamlessly. On here I saw tons of pop ins, hitching as I mentioned and just too much that is very disappointing. Upgrading the building system should have been done from year 1 of official release, but the game was so horrible they couldn't do anything w/the engine. Now they have UE5 to use, and still Fugg it up.
I dont think theyve had anywhere near enough time to make changes to some of these bugged systems. I think theyve mainly focused on getting the game somewhat playable. I would imagine there will be many updates to come to different systems. Its still early access afterall

Turn everything to low, leave Rtx on and set to quality, view distance epic, render to 50% and mess around with the rest, will work 3060+ 50-70 fps and look decent
Ignoring the performance for a sec, the graphics/landscapes are beautiful! Big improvement. Reminds me of the Horizon games. Now we just need it to perform well and we're all happy. The gameplay still seems to be the same but that's fine, it's not Ark 2.
Some nice QoL improvements, and of course the visuals are stunning, but yeah, no reason for it to run that poorly. I'd give it months before it's in any sort of playable state. I might even hold off buying it entirely until it's out of early access. If the performance doesn't improve, I won't be buying it at all.

flying around trying to get 2 seconds to chop a tree without getting attacked is the most ark situation i've ever heard of. ArkSA is sitting at a pretty 42% on steam right now because of the absolute doo doo performance, but the player numbers and purchase numbers are still rather high. I'm personally very torn since i do love ark and it does look great, but 40$ EA sale for a game i own? just feels bad tbh.
It better run at constant 60 fps atleast on ps5, tired of the awful fps on old ark on ps4/ps5, i like the new graphics, hud looks a little basic like some sort of survival game in alpha. Lets hope there are some improvements by the time console release comes

@@thepoomug5449 it won’t be that big of a deal in my opinion i think they’ll probably reduce the render distance and amounts of foliage to possibly have it looking more like the “high” settings on Pc, but other than that it should still look amazing & loads better than ASE & you’ll still get all the functionality that Pc has in terms of the destruction animations and what not possibly just turned down slightly to be better optimized for console.

The fact they had to release it as early access pretty much tells you everything you need to know. To me it looks like the made some very basic changes to the actual game, made it nice and pretty, more than doubled the pc requirements, and kicked it out the door for some a quick buck.
I feel like the game is made and optimized for PvE. Frames drop to shit even with ini’s for most people. With the stunning graphics there is no way you can run this game smoothly around big bases with a lot of tames.
It's not just a texture upgrade? It's rebuilt ground up in a new engine, The taming system has been redone, the building system has been redone and there was a new dinosaur added for every map.
The recommended GPU costs upwards of $1000 and seemingly doesn't even run the game that well to begin with. I'd hope it would be on the cheaper side...
I wish you had different face presets... I really like the original faces also for presets at least they could've just added them plus the new ones they made. I grew really attached to my character I made, even started writing a book series about them and now I can't have that character anymore.
