Confessing your sin to God is enough and you shall be forgiven as long as you truly are repentant. Confessing your sin to the one you sinned against is important too and there can be much healing thru this. However, ask God first what you should do. He will guide you on what is best for you to do. So often we seek man's advice instead of our Lord and savior Jesus. God Bless and I just love pastor Derek's teachings.

Do not agree. Confessing to God and sincere repenting before God is enough. Sometimes confessing to people. Just sometimes. From personal experience, after pastoring 20+ years and counseling people to do exactly as Derek says, I saw many people who could not carry the burden of Truth, and were shipwrecked in their faith, many relationships destroyed forever. This kind of teaching is very dangerous, will destroy countless marriages and lives, and in not Biblical. Only 1 verse supports it in James 5:16, and the context for it is important. As I said, yes you should sometimes confess to people, but only sometimes. In general sincere repentance and confession to God is enough
I'm a great fan of Derek, by the way. I respect him a lot. He influenced my ministry in many positive ways. I thank God for Him. Still listening to his messages
If confessing to others were correct, then the catholics would be approved. There is only one you confess to, Jesus Christ. You may confess sin to someone, like a pastor so they can teach you how to repent or get free of demons. But other sinners cannot help you unless they have conquered that sin themselves.
I believe (my interpretation) from the many other times this act has been discussed, is not stating it is a necessity, but rather the act of confessing what you're either struggling with or perhaps done to another TRUSTED person or persons, merely adds strength from the others as they can pray with and/or for you. This provides help in strengthening you and provides some accountability if you so desire. I've known this to be a great help and encouragement. You do need to be comfortable in your choice of the people you are choosing as to their integrity, faith and privacy. No, I do not hold to the Catholic faith that you MUST confess your sins to a Priest to avail yourself of your sins and making you "qualified "" to partake in Communion. We need only to go to the Father God. I hope this helps for my only objective is to encourage you. Heaven knows I myself am finding myself in need of a big dose of encouragement myself, and I hope I gave you some. God bless and may you have a blessed day and continue to. ❤

It says confess faults not sins to others
Try reading a different translation maybe NIV and not base your theory off KJV alone

If the holy spirit prompts you to confess to another then do so.

Teaching Bible scripture is dangerous ? Then I bet your church is very safe.

Completely agree with you..also from my readings I need to confess to Him out loud only
Unless.. like Derek points out..
Unless, we sin against another.
We are to confess faults to others not sins. In the kjv
