      Because the European consumer does not buy it. Each product is determined by preference, need and of course the laws and regulations of the market.
      I wish they would sell SW and the almost extinct minivans in North America, however unfortunately I know our market would not buy them.
      The last SW or wagons for sale in North America were the Peugeot 206 and 307 SW, Volvo V60 (DE), Subaru Outback (BS), SEAT León ST (5F) and Volkswagen Golf Variant (5K and 5G).
      In fact, the only compact hatchback of European origin (excluding Premium) still for sale is the León (KL1). The closest thing to it are the MPV's Rifter (K9) Long and Caddy (SB) Maxi.

    • @autogefuehl
      @autogefuehl  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      As or the „real leather“, please consider: also bought cars with animal skin leather seats before I did my research and got to know the industry. The most important thing is: With today's modern materials, you have nothing to lose, just to gain. You achieve the same kind of luxury and comfort or even better while having the same or better durability with less impact on humans, animals and the environment.
      You can use fabric/cloth, microfibre or leatherette. They can be made from recyclables (e.g. from PET-bottles or old fishing nets) or even from plant-based materials (like Pinatex from pineapple leaves or Desertex from cactus fibre or the mixed-plant-based Mirum). Or the Polestar 3 e.g. is using pine oil. And even if you still create a leatherette seat the classic way with petroleum base without a recycling share, the amount of oil being used for that is very little in comparison to how much oil is used for other car parts or how much oil is burned for fuel or heating. By ditching animal skin leather from car interiors, the amount of emissions (CO2e) is reduced by 85 (!) % (www.press.bmwgroup.com/africa-dom-easteurope/article/detail/T0403389EN/on-the-market-from-2023:-bmw-and-mini-models-with-vegan-interiors?language=en). So it is the most important thing you can do to make car interiors more sustainable.
      A good example for high-end luxury with ventilated animal free seats is the BMW X7 with Sensfin: th-cam.com/video/1pRNkW9nrrw/w-d-xo.html
      New leatherette materials can be superior in every aspect: th-cam.com/video/u94YXJ72UTA/w-d-xo.html
      More and more natural materials are rising: th-cam.com/video/nRSsXEnwHDo/w-d-xo.html or th-cam.com/video/S1aNZeoatmE/w-d-xo.html
      Another interesting article is here:
      www.collectivefashionjustice.org/articles/is-vegetable-tanned-leather-sustainable-lets-do-some-leather-myth-busting#:~:text=Often%20listed%20as%20a%20'pro,the%20method%20of%20tanning%20used.
      Also check out what the animal skin leather industry tried to with our channel: th-cam.com/video/nP_CvLlaFlI/w-d-xo.html
      For seeing how the animals are being treated and transported in the global leather industry, watch this footage: th-cam.com/video/tkjCAmq1_8E/w-d-xo.html
      Note that the footage is genuine and was recorded by a highly decorated investigative journalist in Germany I know myself personally.
      Depending on the animal skin grade, the animals are specifically raised for this matter. However even if meat is the first misuse case, the hide remains one of the most profitable body parts. That means: If manufacturers put animal leather in a car and you demand it as a customer, you give your money to an industry that earns money by oppressing humans, animals and harms the environment, you make them more profitable. Alternatively, you could support industries with your wallet which try to improve the sustainability of materials. Also, if you turn the argument around to "meat is the waste of the leather industry" you realize that it doesn't make sense (and is ethically doubtful) to discuss the priority use of individual body parts of mammals. Mind experiment: You are getting slain down or even murdered on the street; would it matter to you if it was for your smartphone or for your purse?
      We cannot change what we have bought in the past, but with more information and compassion we can change how we decide in the future.

      @faygox955 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@autogefuehl Thomas, since it is important for you to have a vegan option, I would expect that with the same intention you claim when there is no non-vegan option, when there is no manual transmission option, when there is no non-hybrid engine option, and in the case of hatchbacks when there is no 3-door option.
      I believe that the most important thing is that one can choose the vehicle as one wants and not have to buy what they impose.

    This is a beautiful car. Need 4 door sedans to remain the car to drive for a value price. I drove a 4 door ford fusion titanium and that was one of the best cars I’ve ever owned, shopping for this as it has a lot of those qualities and I’ve always liked Volkswagen. New trucks are too expensive and they don’t put enough creature comforts in the vehicle. You can pay 50k for a truck that doesn’t have the basic comforts of what a vehicle like this has.

    Nice! Real leather and not that "real man made leather" bs.
    And no, I don't have animal skin on my car, I just like that they dont try to bs you on that.

    • @autogefuehl
      @autogefuehl  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thank you very much for your interest in this topic. I also bought cars with animal skin leather seats before I did my research and got to know the industry.
      Another interesting article is here:
      www.collectivefashionjustice.org/articles/is-vegetable-tanned-leather-sustainable-lets-do-some-leather-myth-busting#:~:text=Often%20listed%20as%20a%20'pro,the%20method%20of%20tanning%20used.
      A good example for high-end luxury with ventilated animal free seats is the BMW X7 with Sensfin: th-cam.com/video/1pRNkW9nrrw/w-d-xo.html
      New leatherette materials can be superior in every aspect: th-cam.com/video/u94YXJ72UTA/w-d-xo.html
      More and more natural materials are rising: th-cam.com/video/nRSsXEnwHDo/w-d-xo.html or th-cam.com/video/S1aNZeoatmE/w-d-xo.html
