This doesn't cover the sim card removal though. But I figured it out. After the battery is removed, the sim card should be at the top left corner. At the very bottom of the sim-card retaining clip, there's a plastic retaining tab between the two metal contact looking spots just below the sim-card position. (Not too obvious at first, but it does push in a little bit.) Push that in that tab with a fingernail while using another fingernail to catch or scrape downward at the exposed part of the sim card in the window a the top of the metal clip that holds in the sim card. The sim card should then be able to get over that tab and you can push it out at least half way. Swiping or scraping the sim card down should get it out the rest of the way. There might be some kind of special tools, but it can be taken out by hand even though it's a little fiddly.
Thank you thousand times for this video. This phone was free so I can’t complain, but the design of it that gives you no clue as to how to get into the battery compartment is a serious design flaw. Appreciate your help.
Like everyone else thank you thank you thank you on how to remove that damn back. No instructions at all in any of the paperwork. I bought this for a friend who just uses it for a phone. The best instructions I've used in ages.
YOU'RE THE ABSOLUTE BEST, TECH TALK!!!! LOVE THE NAME OF THE CHANNEL; LOVE WHAT YOU DO!!!!!!! THANKS SO MUCH FOR POSTING THIS VIDEO. GRATZI GRATZI (THANKS , MUCH THANKS!!). if and when you get the chance, please post some more videos!!! you have an extremely niche channel and it is amazing!!! also you have so many views already, but your niche videos have changed my life!!
I know this is irrelevant but is there anyway to put a normal AT&T sim card that was used in my touchscreen iphone and put it in this phone? Im “downgrading” to a flip phone cause I’m tired of tech, but when I put the sim in the phone still wanted me to activate it.
great got battery off but how do you actually pry out the SIM does it pull up, slide out or something else? I'm fiddling with darn thing but worried I will damage either SIM or the casing if get wrong - just would be good to see how you actually remove & change SIM- cheers
they sent me an upgrade for my old flip. the flip phone iv. of course there was no explanation on removing the back and i tore off the little notch at the top trying to remove the back. thanks for explaining the notch which is practically impossible to spot at first glance. i wish i would've watched the video before breaking the little tab; which i don't even see a purpose for.
The reason people watch videos like this is to SEE how the SIM card is inserted. You just pointed at it and said a few words, and I still don't know how it's fastened in. A waste of time. You should re-do it.
@@appalachiangranny2205 There's probably another vid for that -- just search a bit. Maybe: *ATT alcatel flip phone replace SIM* Edit: I found a vid from AT&T that shows how to insert the SIM (but stupidly doesn't show how to remove the back of the phone!). th-cam.com/video/BSXacBjJbMI/w-d-xo.html
Does not show me how to get out the sim that’s already in the phone ! Tried pushing it in to see if it clicks a little then comes out ( like many SD cards ), but not luck. Nothing to grab or push to get it out !
Has anyone else experienced a blank white screen with this phone? I've had mine for about a year now and it's still in quite new condition, never dropped it or got it wet. Yesterday, I texted someone and set it down. Returned 5 minutes later to return another text and when I opened it up, the screen was solid white, with no apparent cause. I took the battery out multiple times, for several minutes, and when I turn it on the screen is still white. Everything else seems to work on it otherwise. I'm a DIY'er and times are tough financially, so I would really like to fix this if I can and not have to pay and wait for a new phone. Can anyone please help? Thanks!
I have a blank white screen on mine and I can't even turn it off ! I am buying a new phone because of this problem . By the way , I am removing the battery since it costs over $40.00 to replace it . I can probably re-use the old battery as I am buying another flip phone . I will probably sell my used phone at a Wal-Mart kiosk for whatever I can get out of it , but they are not getting my battery nor my SIM card !
@@drbluzer, my problem turned out to be the little ribbon that connects the screen to the circuit board had become worn and formed a crack across where it bends. Just from the repeated opening and closing of the phone over time. Good idea saving your batteries and sim cards though, they don't need all your information that's stored on there.
My ALCATEL flip phone apparently committed suicide by displaying a total white screen and I can't shut it off ! I did not let it get wet so I have no idea why this has happened ! Time to buy a new phone !

Very useful. Thanks. :). Just used it to show it to my cousin at lunch who has this old phone as they have sketchy cell service where they live.

Agree
I agree, I needed to see how to insert the SIM card. I can point to it just fine on my own.
