Drew I think the issue with the car scene today is the fact that people don’t actually wrench on their cars anymore additionally people are getting into cars for money and clout
dude fr, people dont get into cars bc they genuinely love the car, they just want to be the coolest person on the internet for like 2 seconds. its annoying
This is the best comment to describe the scene me and a few of my buddies actually wrench and work on our cars maybe not even just to go faster but to make them look nicer and clean them up doing the hard work like today I just took my whole front end off and grinded all the rust down and hit it all with primer while I have other buddies who would just pay to have that done or just continue to cover it up with the front bumper and fenders. But the point of a project is to work on it and to build it yourself in my option at least if you didn’t build it and can only read me the sheets I don’t really find it cool impressive or anything more then a waste of money and enjoyment.
When he talks like this surely this is for US right? I live in the UK and want a v6 bcz of insurance and petrol prices. Would everyone still recommend to get a v8? Edit: Also I just think that much BHP is not going to get used in the UK. xD
@@UMistthere’s nothing wrong with a v6 just don’t try to compensate the v8 by doing ugly “mods” that break necks for all the wrong reasons and it would be better if you buy a Japanese 6/4 cylinder
@@UMistI just noticed that you wrote v6 bcz in that case it’s ok if insurance and fuel consumption are your concern and when he talks about v6s in his videos he’s mainly referring to American muscle cars with v6s.(btw I had to google v6 bcz so take this with a grain of salt)
A V6 & V8 Mustang have around the same "potential" performance if you're not opening up the engine. If youre talking about a Camero or Challenger/Charger then you made the right call
I remember when I was told that my 450whp fox body was slow. For me it was like yeah, compared to your brand new Shelby GT500, yeah it probably is, but for the guys like me who like 60's-90's cars and trucks, that's awesome. I'm long past giving a shit about what people think of me or my cars at this point, 10 years ago it used to really bug me when people said their cars were faster, or better looking, today? Way over it all. I love all my cars and that's all that matters to me.
Power to weight ratio is often glossed over in the social media car world these days. You seriously do not need, and most people couldn't even begin to handle a car with 500+ HP, let alone 1,000+. Those that have driven cars like that know it's a whole different animal. This is ultimately why it blows my mind that automotive manufacturers are selling cars with 700+ HP from the factory to any asshat with the cash to purchase it. It really is a wild time to be alive.
Drew I think you should talk more on how content creators should explain/be more realistic on what it takes to actually BUILD a car. And also how much it COST to build a car. Not just exterior but explain how a turbo kit is not all you need to turbo your car!
1:44 That is 100% accurate. Social media has given everyone FOMO and the copy-cat syndrome. "If he/she is doing that than it must mean I have to do it and I'll be famous too!" It's the cancer of our society.
Not directly related, but i've been watching five second cars go down the track after seeing a lot of low seven high six second cars. It's hella fast! Faster than I wanna go. The point is, we all have to pick our limits. One time I experienced nine second 1/4 mile type acceleration on the street. It was more than scary enough for me to be concerned. 400 to 500 hp is more than enough fun on the street.
Car content nowadays is flexing, rage bait, or clout chasing. Going to a car meet isn’t the same anymore either. Last car meet I went to was when I moved to a new area and wanted to meet the local car enthusiasts. I said hi to a few people and every person ignored me lol. It was a popularity contest lol just like online.
Honestly love this form of content from you Drew. Feels like when me and my boys rant about the same stuff while working on our cars at one house. I moved away from them a year ago now, so this brings back a lot of nostalgia. Thank you for just being you💪
YOOOOO I just realized I've never been subbed to the Drew Peacock main channel. I've been watching for the fattest minute and somehow never subbed until today to both channels
My main issue with the car scene, is the people themselves. They promote takeovers as if that’s “cool”. I’m so lucky my previous owners actually treated my car with care. That’s why I’m skeptical on selling it even if the value on it increases and it becomes rare because I’m afraid to sell it to some moron who isn’t motivated nor interested in the aspect of car prodigy. They’ll just end up ruining it, and having it totalled due to their careless and ignorant actions. Like I said drew, it’s the people. The community is the people. Sad times man, sad times
So Drew - I'm going to comment on the ""Anybody" can go out and buy a car, it's not that impressive." comment you made. I can honestly say that I'm probably older than your average viewer, I have zero Social Media presence. I do not have TiKTok, Instagram, Facebook, etc ... I don't go to Car Meets, Street Races, Takeovers, or anything like that. I work in the Engineering Field and I drive a BMW M4 Competition. This is the car I've wanted since I was in my 20's (M3/M4) and I'm almost 45 now. I started out with a BWW 325ci, then a Mercedes C350 and now finally the BMW M4 Competition. It took me that long in my Career to finally be able to comfortably afford this car, the maintenance, gas, and insurance on it. Please keep in mind that the average U.S. Male income is around $63,804 per year, so not every person can just go out and buy the car that they want. Especially in today's market and interest rate levels. So if you've worked hard your whole life and are finally able to get one of your "dream" cars, I do believe it's very impressive. Just my 2 cents ... Love your content.
Tons of people are taking trash loans and getting almost any car they want. People scoff at the idea of something fun that isn't 600whp with features. They don't enjoy cars they enjoy BMW M4s because they can be seen from a distance as an expensive car with power. Modern car scene isn't about fun cool cars. It's about how it'll look on Instagram and 300whp doesn't look good on text.
In a world full of v6 mustangs, chargers and challengers, I got the Euro bug and upgraded from a 2013 Jetta GLI to a 2016 Audi TTS in Vegas Yellow. I’m in love with my car. 👌
My current ride is a base model 2000 Tacoma with fully-lock brakes and manual everything but the transmission. I'm paying off debts from a darker part of my life aggressively and I own my home outright, no liens at 45. I finally figured out if I spent a few years eating rice and pasta and making do, I would have a lot more money to do stuff I enjoy. Fun to see everyone else's ride. Having an ego is expensive. Having a s**tbox daily driver is cheap and satisfying.
Honestly bro I think the car scene is what you see in CA and titok. I don't use tiktok and here in PA. Car meets are nice honestly, enjoyed almost everyone i've gone too.
I’ve always been in the opinion that it is more fun to drive a slow car fast, then a fast car slow. All the people that want a 800 and up horsepower probably wouldn’t be able to handle all that power properly.
Like the channel, I would like to hear about the challenges of modifying your cars in Cali, and why you are willing to be a car guy there. Are you worried about saying the mods you do online and showing certain clip
I want to work on my gt350 but I’m scared to. I haven’t done anything to it yet after 4 months except the new coolant expansion tank. It came with the corsa x-pipe and jlt intake. Headers and some exterior work are what I want to do eventually
i prefer bought vehicles. i used to be into building them. but honestly the idea of everything being covered by insurance and warranty. i’d rather just by the car i want at the horsepower and speed i want and not go out and try to make a slower car into the car that was already made to be what im trying to turn the slower one into
This channel popped up on my feed. I'm to this one as well. Drop it brother!!! 2 types of content on 1 channel doesn't work to well. I should have split mine. I am here in the future.
the whole hp talk - like the benchmark track car or street sports car is for most people the 911 or the gt3 rs right - and the gt3rs makes 525 or so and the turbo s is at 650
My main beef is people who make cosmetic mods at the the cost of performance and capability. Particularly the brodozer hicks, because they are throwing away WAY more money than they would ricing out a car. And they unironically think it looks cool
Seriously bro im 24 years old and it seems like everybody my age forgot about trying to build a fast car for as cheap as possible. Like i have a 21 Q50 got it for less than 30k with 27k miles and bmw dodge and benz owners love to talk shit and say im cooked for driving infiniti but what other luxury car can you find thats rwd 300hp stock and with $1000 ecutek tuner make a 150hp GAIN for 25k low mileage… VR30 is a really slept on platform so are alot of other v6 and 4 bangers but they feel like if it didn’t cost 60k+ off the lot it aint shit🤦🏽♂️ okay im sorry rant over on your rant video😭🤣
people also forget that stock cars are still fast. my mustang is stock still and it actually surprises me every time how quick and fast it actually is. i cant even imagine when i start building it people have been brain rotted to shit on tiktok and IG seeing 2k horsepower cars

Drew I think the issue with the car scene today is the fact that people don’t actually wrench on their cars anymore additionally people are getting into cars for money and clout
honestly. and apparently everything has to be fkn “900 horsepower” nowadays or you getting baked off the earth 💀
dude fr, people dont get into cars bc they genuinely love the car, they just want to be the coolest person on the internet for like 2 seconds. its annoying
Getting into cars for money there’s nothing wrong with that I be making money off rolls and digs but the clout is an issue
Everyone is into car because it’s popular. Some people are just like that if sucking D was cool they’d be doing that too 😂
You saved me from modding my V6 and I saved to buy the V8 which is pushing 700whp with a pro charger thank you sir 😭🙏🏽
Nice bro i like telling the younger people to save their and leave their current cars alone 🙏🏻
When he talks like this surely this is for US right? I live in the UK and want a v6 bcz of insurance and petrol prices. Would everyone still recommend to get a v8?

people saying 1000hp isnt alot just dont have cars its simple as that 200hp and above is already fast i cant even imagine what 1000feels like

tbh a 600hp supra would even be enough i think i'll be good with 500 dsm

Watch out when you leave E85 sitting in your car can fck up alot off shit brother. Run a couple quality gasoline tanks trough it ✌️
Will this be on podcast form? Could be a good layout for it

Drew please turbo the mustang you will enjoy out so much more especially on the street😫
