    Xabi Alonso announces he will remain at Bayer Leverkusen next season after speculation linking him to Liverpool and Bayern Munich.
    Alonso was touted by many as a replacement for Jurgen Klopp, who is leaving Anfield at the end of the season.
    Bayern Munich were also keen to appoint their former player as a replacement for the departing Thomas Tuchel.
    Leverkusen are unbeaten in all competitions in Alonso's first full season in charge and are closing in on the Bundesliga title.

    As a Liverpool fan - of course I have a little bit of disappointment of his decision. But I want to say that his decision worths all the respect. It's going to be nice to continue his journey at Leverkusen and build his amazing legacy there. Staying at the club where you have built something special instead of going to the big club is a rare decision so I really respect it. I wish him all the best there and in his career in general. Anfield will always be opened for him in the future. But I hope my team appoints the right coach to replace Klopp so we won't need to appoint Alonso at all cost ;)

      This could benefit Liverpool as if he joined Liverpool now, the pressure may be too much as when he joined Leverkusen. When he joined Leverkusen there was no expectations to do this well for him. The team was in relegation battle. So him staying and improving as a manager will make him even better when he does decide to join Liverpool. Unless he picks Bayern, which I hope he doesn't. I hope he's at Leverkusen for at least another 3 years

    • @amarocstudio7812
      @amarocstudio7812 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      It was a bit desperate and naive for Liverpool to think they'd land Xabi. Great team and with such a great manager as Klopp it's been almost impossible for the club to win 2 EPLs in more than 2 decades. Besides Klopps shoes are too big to be filled. The next manager for Liverpool will be judged on their every step

    • @PJ_ShortsOfficial

    • @melv5816
      @melv5816 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @amarocstudio7812 I think it was more the media pushing Xabi Alonso choosing to leave for Liverpool and some of the fans hoping for it. FSG, of course, would want to go for one of the best options available, and Alonso is one of them. That's not naive and desperate. That's smart. Also, I'm sure FSG understands Klopp's shoes can't be filled. Liverpool fans also understand that. Klopp's legacy is his own and the next manager will have his. Hopefully just as, if not more illustrious than Klopp.

    It will be interesting to see if he can replicate his performances next season
    And go toe to toe with Bayern again
    Cuz it was kind of a dead league like the French league, where it's pretty much only one team is going to win
    And ofcourse then Bayern's notorious for ransacking other clubs for their star players / coaches
    Thus ensuring the cycle continues
    More competition makes it more interesting

    Sly Sports News have been dying to hear this for months now.. whenever there’s a good vibe around Liverpool FC they always have to throw so much negativity out there. If Man Utd wanted Alonso, Sly Sports would be doing everything in their power to make sure he did join them, it’s so clear to see.. but all respect to Xabi, I just hope he doesn’t go to Real Madrid after Leverkusen as he won’t get given time to change things, as soon as he has a few bad results, especially in the CL, he’ll be replaced. If he goes to Liverpool he’ll get as long as Klopp, could be a legendary manager for LFC, up there with Klopp, Shanks and Paisley. Let’s see what happens.

    How we know Xabi Alonso is a legend already...he has made a decision not to come to liverpool but as liverpool fans we still respect him so much and his decision too...just like we did with Klopp. Two great legends!!❤🙌🏽💥Klopp Jr

    Great decision. a failure at Bayren or Liverpool would have ended his career. He can wait patiently and decide on his future. His coaching career can last 20 more years. No reason to take a rash decision now.

      There might be a future for him at Anfield. Right now, I think Liverpool should prioritise either Nagelsmann or Amorim. Both managers for the right profile for the club.
